One would think that Ohio State's over-the-top reputation for fan behavior would be somewhat mitigated by the fact that we play in the same conf. as Penn State. I can't imagine a more wide spread criminal nature in any fan base as the sociopathical behavior on display in State College.
The revenue form the gate is only the tip of the ice berg. Home games are huge money making enterprises. Anyone who has stepped onto Lane Avenue during an OSU home game knows exactly what I am talking about. There are politics involved and the people making the decisions get their pockets lined...
Plus, football is a Fall/Winter sport. Playing with the elements are part of it.
That being said, I am not convinced that 20 degree temps and some wind would provide a Big Ten with anything more than a marginal advantage over a team from Florida or Georgia, etc.
I beat Texas in the NC game in my dynasty last night. Laurinaitis and Washington each had 2 picks of Colt McCoy. D-Wash returned both to the house!
Both of Laurinaitis' picks came of bobbles by Texas receivers going over the middle, which I think is pretty accurate. If you get popped over the...
An Illinios win against MIzzou to start the season would be huge. I was talking to some tourists from Peoria, IL on the subway the other day about college football. They seemed very confident in their team for 2008.
I have this sneaking suspicion that the Illini - Mizzou game gets hyped to the...
I finished the 2008 regular season in my dynasty. Shockingly, Indiana, freaking Indiana, went 12-0 and got an invite to the Rose Bowl. Ohio State (my team) also went 12-0 and will be playing the National Championship game against Texas. Michigan finished 4-8 (1-7 in Big Ten play).
I agree. These are truly salad days for the Ohio State football program. You can underscore that point with all the anti-Ohio State sentiment from the rest of the country. That just reinforces that that Ohio State is one of the most visible and most relevant programs in the country.
I fail to see how the likes of PSU and Mich. can moan and complain about losing Pryor to the Buckeyes. Michigan is in disarray and Rich Rod's offenses have a difficult keeping their QB healthy. Penn State is stuck in 1986 and showing no signs of departing any time soon. Why wouldn't Terelle...
Much to my dismay, there are no custom playbooks in NCAA 2009 again.
I found a good playbook to compliment Terelle Pryor if you are going to use him as a starter or have already progressed into the 2009 season. Check out BYU's playbook. They have a good mix of shotgun spread formations and...
I've been playing out the 2008 season on my dynasty on heisman level with the CPU AI sliders turned up to 55% across the board.
I had some trouble with USC in the first quarter but beat ended up beating them fairly handily. Same goes for Wisconsin.
However, I have been stuck on the Purdue...
You MUST adjust the sliders against the CPU, especially if you are playing as tOSU. 60% across the board for the CPU (except FG accuracy and distance) is a must if you play as any team ranked in the top 10. I turn the user's pass accuracy and pass protection down to 45% as well.
I redshirted Stoneburner in my dynasty. it was a tough call b/c I like his height in the redzone but I felt that I could just power the ball into the endzone with Beanie behind Boone's blocking 80% of the time.
