I have no crystal ball however it seems to me that if Goebel ends up in the Big Ten it will only be at IOWA or ILLINOIS. Too bad that other Big 10 teams don't value him like Iowa yet at least this makes his eventual decision much easier

Josh,
You may not remember me but we communicated w/ each other a few years ago regarding my nephew Garrett Goebel. I would like to speak with you. ZIf possible could you call me at 630 624-2155 OR email me @ [email protected]? Thanks
Brian E. Goebel
Elusive
Cannot speak for Larimore or Soloman but I would almost guarantee that Goebel snuck in the back door / or climbed the roof to avoid any photographers!!
Thank you for the info. Not to be ungrateful for Garrett's recognition (Nor discredit CFN & other athlete's honored in this article) however I heard that as a Buckeye recipient of the "award" OSU will be installing a small "certificate of validation from CFN" above all the toilet paper...
Every time I speak w/ Garrett (Almost daily) I address his current classes +grades. Like yourself my D1 football career ended prematurely & I constantly remind Garrett that he is ONLY ONE PLAY AWAY from never playing football again. So far his GPA is 3.2. When I saw Coach JT last October he said...
Garrett is currently in the best shape (Strength & speed wise) of his life. He has reduced his body fat % considerably (changed his eating habits) and he is 6'5" 285+ lbs. According to reliable sources who I keep in contact with (Sorry I cannot provide names) Garrett is expected to be part of...
I must shamefully admit I told him to do that (I have already asked forgiveness from thy FISHING GOD).....But at least this trophy was released unharmed for another angler to some day catch (hopefully release) again.
I agree. In due time however as some very close to Garrett are concerned his new "hobby" could possibly become a distraction towards his dedication to academics & football. IMHO Garrett WOULD NEVER allow anything / anybody distract him from his career goals. I'd bet what little I own on this...
Garrett is arriving in Eagle River, WI. today (with his family) & I arranged for him to go Musky fishing w/ one of the best Musky guides in the Northwoods (A longtime fishing buddy from Eagle River) this Mon. or Tues. Hopefully there will be a picture of a much larger fish I can post soon...
Garrett wanted me to take him fishing (His first time showing any interest in fishing) while in Northern Wisconsin this past June. As usually GG learned quickly catching / releasing a 21" 5 lb.+ Smallmouth Bass. It is good to see him do something he enjoys besides training for football &...
What I am most proud of Garrett is the fact that he has not let his situation (being a highly touted young player at a major college football program where players are often idolized by loyal fans) change his personality, his humility and his desire to remain anonymous despite living in a...
Emerging D-Lineman
I cannot wait to see him on the field as well. From what I've heard he has quickly gained the respect of his teamates & coaches however he still prefers to avoid attention & just let his work at Woody speak for itself.
IMO Goebel will surprise Buckeye fans in the near future.
I appear to be a procrastinater as I have been using the numerous benefits provided by BP for quite a while yet am finally taking the "introduction" plunge. There may even be a very remote possibility that someone reading this recognizes my username (or has absolutely nothing else to do!!)...
