Jordan Hicks was a 3rd round pick and played 10 years in the NFL, but his college career was pretty meh and injury plagued until he was 2nd team all Big 12 in his 5th season.
Spencer Ware only rushed for 1,250 yards in his whole college career. He did get drafted in the 6th round and played a...
Losing a fringe top 100 recruit isn't even close to even the worst thing that's happened in recruiting either.
This guy wasn't around in 2010 when there were 6 top 100 players in the state and 5 of them went not to Ohio State
Jordan Hicks - Texas
Spencer Ware - LSU
Latwan Anderson - Miami...
If Torbert was heading to some random SEC school or something of sorts, it would be pretty ho hum. He's a decent prospect but he's not like some can't miss top 5-10 type recruit in this class. It really only somewhat of an "issue" because he's going to be going to Michigan.
Apparently, he had a pretty good showing at the draft combine so he might not even be playing college ball in 2027. The transfer portal designation might be for leverage more than anything.

Considering the very last minute jump into the portal (today is the last day) I'm assuming an offer got to him that was too good to refuse.
Becoming a feeder school once guys show something is definitely a big concern for all northern schools.
Transfer from Wake Forest. Only took 20 ABs at Wake Forest as a freshman this year but was a decently highly rated recruit out of HS (#218 overall player in the class according to Perfect Game)

Uck this one hurts. The hardest thing for the B1G schools that aren't the west coast schools is holding onto players from getting poached once they start showing a little something
Yep great size/frame and he does appear to have very strong hands. Raw but good tools to work with here. In this era you aren't stacking 3/4 top notch WR recruits ranking wise, it's just not realistic. These are the types of kids you take a chance on.
