While I agree with you that it all sounded stupid and unenforceable from the start, this was the result of a court settlement, not just an arbitrary NCAA rule. So I would assume that the district court judge made sure the settlement abided by the Supreme Court ruling.
It was supposed to if you read the house settlement.
Basically they were trying to cap pay for play for 20.5M, that can come from the schools and/or NIL collectives. Students are allowed to get additional NIL beyond that if it was doing legitimate advertising work and it can’t be tied to...
The house settlement was supposed to be an effective 20.5M cap with a clearinghouse making sure that any player NIL money going above that cap was for legitimate sponsorship payments. If NIL payments didn’t make it past the clearinghouse as legitimate then that payment went against the cap.
As...
In all reality him staying means we’d be spending something like $8M on 2 players and neither are the QB. His value is just too high for college ball. Salary cap in the NFL is more than 10x what college teams can spend.
I feel like what Bill Landis said in their post game is exactly what I’ve been trying to say. The predictability of the pace of play hurt our offense. Going slow is fine but we went slow almost exclusively and that helped the opposing defense be efficient. Using the entire play clock gave the...
Personally I think they didn’t run tempo more because the couldn’t. The offensive players aren’t practiced enough for it, but more importantly I don’t think the coaching staff has the ability to do that consistently in a game. It requires a lot of cogs working well together and we had just...
It’s not the plays per game that I’m upset about. It’s more of using the entire play clock every time gives the defense time to get a breather, get a call in and lined up with adjustments. It can still take 7-8 minutes. They don’t have to do it all the time, just be more varied. The offense is...
This is what has been killing me about everyone saying that tempo isn’t an advantage. Tempo is a game of which coordinators can get the call in time.
First you need an OC that is fast at adjusting, has watched enough film to know the defensive tendencies and can quickly dissect them to get the...
Going to 16 increases the number of games for the playoff owner. Getting rid of CCG gets rid of the game for whoever owns those right. Big ten would need to renegotiate their contract with fox/cbs/nbc (they also get half of the CCGs). I don’t think NBC or CBS is happy with the contract right now...
Id be ok with this. You move the first round up to the week after CCG and the next round to the Saturday before Christmas. Then you’ve got 8-12 days off before the new years semis.
Didn’t watch the games yesterday but looking at the scores I think we have enough data points on rest vs rust.
Next year should be 16 and get rid of the byes. Indiana just has an underdog mindset that keeps them focused. Only top-4 seed to make it out of 8 so far.
This is kinda a thing. He needs to be able to know when to run. About what Beck is doing tonight, he’s not running a lot but he’s taking it when it’s there.
