    2026 tOSU Defense Discussion

I'm with you, I don't think we expected it simply because of numbers. We had to have most of these guys start or be regular contributors. Now we've gotta scramble to have a semblance of what we saw last year on defense. Reese and Downs had to be presumed to be gone, but the rest of the...

S Earl Little Jr. (Official Thread)

I read the name and thought we got a Nascar driver in the portal. In all seriousness, really important grab in the portal after the decision of starters and depth at the position. Should work well for both parties.

S Faheem Delane (transfer to LSU)

Sigh. Not what we needed with Downs no longer in center field. Not even sure what safeties we have at this point? Seems like he would've seen the field a lot or even start at the position. Then again, add him to the list I have said that about that have jumped in the portal...at the very least...

    CB Jordan Thomas (Official Thread)

Looked really good out there from what I saw, wouldn't be surprised if he's fighting to get in the field. The PT is there for the taking in the secondary.

WR Coach Cortez Hankton (Official Thread)

This is very thorough and much appreciated to know what we're getting here. At least with talent development, there seems to be a lot to like. If there's any gaps on recruiting, hopefully we can adapt but I'll reserve judgment like I do with all coaches once they get. Ohio State offers a lot on...

    RB Legend Bey (Official Thread)

Agreed, Bey reminds me quite a bit of Dontre Wilson coming out of HS. He was a RB/WR hybrid that we never really figured out how to use properly. Hopefully the staff will be inventive in getting him the ball as Miami is with Toney.

2027 IN WR Monshun Sales (Verbal Offer)

He would be a huge get and mostly a byproduct of bringing in Hankton as mentioned above. If we could get him and Henry Jr on the field together, that would be an incredible duo of two huge athletic WR freaks.

    LB Christian Alliegro (Official Thread)

Excellent pickup, he really stood out against us and in every game I watched him. He's a really talented player with a hard nose for the football. This is about as sure of a thing as it gets, I'm stoked on this one.

2027 TX DB John Meredith (Verbal Offer)

I will be interested if Scott leaving (along with those DBs hitting the Draft) will appeal to a recruit like Meredith. You have a program with a pedigree for putting CBs in the NFL that are thriving, a very good position coach that recruits well, and the departures in the DB room would be an...

CB Aaron Scott Jr. (National Champion, transfer to Oregon)

He feels that way based on what was being relayed to him by his coaches and felt that he worked towards those standards, and was playing well enough to be getting more PT. The staff apparently told him he still wasn't ready to get significant PT despite trying to meet the coaches standards. Keep...

CB Aaron Scott Jr. (National Champion, transfer to Oregon)

This is not one of the good transfers. There is some general fallout after the way the season ended and some guys were going pro regardless, but there will end up being quite a few transfers that the staff didn't want. Scott is as good as gone from what I understand and we would have relied on...

CB Aaron Scott Jr. (National Champion, transfer to Oregon)

I just shrugged my shoulders because I have no idea, making this transfer a complete head scratcher. I have no idea what this team will look like next year.

    2025 Cotton Bowl: #2 tOSU vs #10 Miami-FL, Wed 12/31 7:30 ET at JerryWorld

Agreed, that was likelihood a 14 point swing (10 at minimum) and happened in a matter of seconds. And the missed block caused it, no getting around that. Obviously that missed block pales in comparison to what Jeremiah has done for us, but that play changed the game.

    2025 Cotton Bowl: #2 tOSU vs #10 Miami-FL, Wed 12/31 7:30 ET at JerryWorld

In the same boat. Winning The Game felt full circle and I said I would be happy if the ended then, so I need to hold myself to that. And you can't win a NC every year, especially with the playoff system. It hurts because the play calling was pretty abysmal and to be immediately out of the...

    2026 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Figuring out the hard way on getting an actual kicker, need to get a kid on scholarship that's legit.

WR Coach Cortez Hankton (Official Thread)

Also curious on his recruiting prowess? Seemed to be a good recruiter at least from the outside looking in. Hartline was top notch in that regard, so I was hoping he would at least have that going. Hartline was also a great coach and technician, so it's tough to find someone who is both.

    2025 Cotton Bowl: #2 tOSU vs #10 Miami-FL, Wed 12/31 7:30 ET at JerryWorld

That's really all I have to say about it. Boat race them with our talent and break their will. If you leave good teams in it and play as slow as we did on offense, mistakes are magnified. You get down and it puts a lot of pressure on the guys to change the game plan, aka desperation mode. It was...

    2025 Cotton Bowl: #2 tOSU vs #10 Miami-FL, Wed 12/31 7:30 ET at JerryWorld

Even if they did (and I doubt the major guys like Smith, Tate, Downs and McDonald do), the only way to make a legit run is to hit the portal hard on OL and DL...otherwise the result won't change. Sayin can't mask the gaping holes on the OL with any running ability and the run blocking was...

    2025 Cotton Bowl: #2 tOSU vs #10 Miami-FL, Wed 12/31 7:30 ET at JerryWorld

Yep, time to hit the slopes more often in the best ski weather of the season coming up. No interest in how the rest shakes out. I honestly had reservations about this team making a run again after all the flaws exposed against IU. Thought we would win this one, but we didn't come to play and...
