DE Logan George (transfer to ???)

Someone remind me so that I don't have to put forth any effort: how much eligibility does he have?

OC/WR Coach Brian Hartline (National Champion, HC at USF)

I'm not hating his play calling, so far.

I was there for the loss in 2011 and will never forget the death march back to Atlanta. I wouldn't mind seeing 100 rung up on the Fighting Bielimi.

DE Kenyatta Jackson (All B1G, National Champion)

If, as reported, it was a stinger, they may hold him out this week, too. I’ve had more of these of varying severity than I want to remember and the problem is that if not given sufficient time to recover, they can become chronic.

HC Ryan Day (B1G Coach of Year, B1G Champion, National Champion)

I think they’re spending some of the karma credits from winning the NC. Spending on capex, investment, as you say, in a QB who will be here awhile, and in simply winning games rather than the opex urgency of having to do everything right now and with something-to-prove scores. I think we’ll...

QB1 Julian Sayin (All B1G, B1G Frosh of Year, All American, National Frosh of Year, National Champion)

Even more not letting the facts get in the way of a good story, knocking him for not throwing deep. but completely ignoring that when he has his accuracy has been elite.

OL Coach Tyler Bowen (Official Thread)

No question. Both hires are still upgrades; we wouldn't trade them out to get last year's guys back.
  8. RugbyBuck

OL Coach Tyler Bowen (Official Thread)

Solid, yes. Pulled everyone together under incredible adversity and blew through the playoffs, no question. Is Bowen still a massive upgrade on-field and in recruiting? So far, yes.

OL Coach Tyler Bowen (Official Thread)

Two all around massive off-season upgrades with Bowen and Patricia.

DE Caden Curry (All B1G, All American, National Champion, Indianapolis Colts)

This is the guy everyone expected when he was recruited. We on the outside don't understand how much work goes into meeting that level of performance at this level. The "Developed Here" mantra is the truth. Our current coaches are killing it, but it takes full buy-in from the players. Tough...

OL Carson Hinzman (All B1G, All American, National Champion)

Hard not to pull for this guy the way he worked through everything.

QB1 Julian Sayin (All B1G, B1G Frosh of Year, All American, National Frosh of Year, National Champion)

And the level of prep work they've done with him and he's obviously put in the work.

    DC Matt Patricia (Official Thread)

Pretty sure Kelly and Day had an understanding on the front end that it was going to be one or possibly two and done. Better shot with Patricia, I think. He seems to really like working with his guys.

DE Caden Curry (All B1G, All American, National Champion, Indianapolis Colts)

I read that 11 tackles is the most by a tOSU DL since Heyward in 2009. Insane number for a DE.

DE Caden Curry (All B1G, All American, National Champion, Indianapolis Colts)

That is a ridiculous stat line. Bosa-like or better.

I feel better going into this one having seen how we handled Navarro.

I will be surprised and more than a little disappointed if we're not punching it in from inside the ten after a bye week.

    DC Matt Patricia (Official Thread)

I think to be a great teacher, and that's how I've heard him describe himself, you've got to be able raise kids' level without talking down to them. That's actually pretty difficult and he seems to have walked right into it as opposed to being an ego-driven "genius" (obligatory Knowles reference).

Ok, would you now teach us to play Spades in case one of us gets invited to the cookout?

Absolutely agree with both you and Jax. It's definitely not one to be taken lightly and while Day's downplayed the Oregon game as the reason for going out on Thursday I think it's a good sign that at least someone learned that lesson. His statement that they need to treat it like a playoff...
