    2025 tOSU Defense Discussion

Bastard, beat me to it. Slow on the keyboard this morning.

    2025 tOSU Defense Discussion

Agreed, but with 26 of that 93 on the first play. I admit that when I saw that I thought we'd be in for a long day. They definitely pulled it together, though, especially in the second half.

Is This The Best OSU Team Ever?

2019 didn’t quite get it done. 2024 lost to tcun, but ripped through four top ten teams to take it. None of our other teams have done that. Some maybe could’ve, but didn’t have the opportunity. 2024 did and took it.

I thought Jack and JT underachieved a little given the hype and expectations and Curry and Jackson have definitely overachieved this far. DL was supposed to be a question, but KMac and those guys have flat gotten after it.

Is This The Best OSU Team Ever?

Fair to say that the potential and opportunity are there, but, to echo the above post, special teams are subpar, run game is suspect until proven otherwise, I still have red zone concerns, and, while I think the OL will be fine, there’s certainly room for improvement there, too.

One dimensional with a backup qb in his first big game as a starter. Patricia and Co. confounded Arch & Sark for most of the opener and shit down Williams at UDub. I don’t see the pedsters doing much.

QB1 Julian Sayin (All B1G, B1G Frosh of Year, All American, National Frosh of Year, National Champion)

And in an offense that is being deliberately limited. They turned him loose a little at UW, but we haven't seen him fully let it rip yet.

OC/WR Coach Brian Hartline (National Champion, HC at USF)

I think there's a tacit understanding that he will be next in line after Day. I also don't think it will be until he's ready. When I hear him in interviews it's pretty clear that the standards for the WR room are those he has for himself. You don't see the field until you're ready. He seems...

The notion that Day is planning to rub Knowles' nose in it bothers me. While I think and hope that he's now outgrown it, he's shown that one can get in his head and make him work against his interest. I love what we've seen and heard this season about doing whatever it takes to win each game...

Hopefully, he's learned a lesson. He played Stroud way too much and I seem to remember reading part of that was for Heisman exposure. Put Stroud at risk and fucked us the next year or so because we had no one with any experience. Reciprocally, though, it could be argued that this situation...

Hahaha, clearly some football guys don't know rugby. Some of us, though, have played and watch both.

I expected more from CJD after the offseason with Mick.

He looks like he'll flog ye for a wee dram and a bit of haggis.

    2025 tOSU Offense Discussion

Even the "block" Klare made on Smith's touchdown was basically him just being there. The defender blasted him and just as easily could've knocked him back into Smith. We've heard a lot about the TE room and coaching and Day's seemed to want to make a point of using them, but the product hasn't...

LB Arvell Reese (All B1G, B1G LB of Year, All American, National Champion, New York Giants)

Not disputing that and certainly not saying all the credit belongs to Patricia. Almost unanimously, though, (although I don't remember seeing a quote from Reese on the issue) our defensive guys, even those with multiple years in the Knowles system and Downs, who's renowned as having jedi-level...

Also, gotta think playing for Patricia has helped with his progress.

There's room for more lateraling in CFB... says the rugby guy.

    DC Matt Patricia (Official Thread)

I think we went from a guy who thinks genius is being a mad scientist and that his system is the best and only way to a guy who is smart enough to be flexible as to personnel and scheme and to teach rather than dictate.
