2025 Season: Are You Ready For Some Football?

    Innis isn't going anywhere, innit?

WR Jeremiah Smith (All B1G, B1G Freshman of Year, B1G WR of Year, Unanimous All-American, 2025 Rose Bowl Off MVP, National Champion)

Since it’s roughly Xmas-time, my grandmother would say, “Y’all listen here, that boy’s about to throw them moneychangers out the temple, you hear?”

B1G CCG: #1 tOSU vs #2 Indiana in Indy, Sat. Dec 6th, 8 ET on FOX

I’ve had a chance to breathe now, and scum imploding has been a nice bonus. I’d like to see these clowns again in the CFP final. I think they played their best and we played if not our worst, close to it and lost by three. I don’t see us taking them lightly and that happening again.

    2025 Cotton Bowl: #2 tOSU vs #10 Miami-FL, Wed 12/31 7:30 ET at JerryWorld

I feel ok about Hartline in the first game with three weeks to work with, but he has to be locked in for the second two games.

HC Ryan Day (B1G Coach of Year, B1G Champion, National Champion)

Yes, because it can be an efficient and explosive offense. I'll take eight chances rather than four with this offense. In between, I'm playing the odds that this defense will minimize the potential damage of our extra possessions. That's what we did last year in the playoff. I think our...

HC Ryan Day (B1G Coach of Year, B1G Champion, National Champion)

I understand and agree to disagree. We're not good enough to only have a few bites at the apple and our defense is good enough to minimize what the other side can do. I think that given enough bites at it we will execute. We are that good on offense. I simply, at this point trust the defense...

HC Ryan Day (B1G Coach of Year, B1G Champion, National Champion)

You can also have more time of possession by having more possessions. That's what's a little maddening to me. If we had a slightly above average defense, ok, I can see trying to extend the time of each drive. We don't have that. We have one of the, if not the, best defenses we've had. I...

RB Lamar "Bo" Jackson (All B1G)

Defender closed pretty quickly and my thought was that Sayin was a little gun shy about interceptions. I didn't have a problem with him not throwing to Jackson, but I question why he didn't just run for the yard. He had two there, easy.

OC/WR Coach Brian Hartline (National Champion, HC at USF)

I think the IU game showed that he's not a finished product as an OC. Maybe he'll be a CEO-type of HC.

PK Jayden Fielding (All B1G, National Champion, Ottawa Redblacks)

He doesn’t get a pass because we’ve had other mediocre and worse kickers and we don’t get a pass for having had so many mediocre and worse kickers. There’s this thing called to transfer portal now and we seem to use it magnificently for most other positions. Go out and get a fucking kicker...

Contrast our running plays with that kid Black for IU. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a back hit the hole as fast as a few of his runs.

I think right now Tate would be my first option. Absolutely agree about IU. We shouldn’t have let them, but they stepped up and won it.

HC Ryan Day (B1G Coach of Year, B1G Champion, National Champion)

Yes, I don’t disagree with any of this and I still think that when matched up against a better than usual opponent, that is the time to overwhelm and end them early. What’s the point of having better talent if you don’t use it when you need it. Playing the same efficiency game as always lowers...

So much this, OH Sports Fan. To paraphrase Kendrick Lamar, sometimes you just got to pop out and show Hoosiers. Instead, we played/coached like we played against Rutgers, Penn State, etc.

HC Ryan Day (B1G Coach of Year, B1G Champion, National Champion)

I just assumed that we had a can of whup-ass in the pantry and agreed that there was no need to open it until we needed it. We needed a little of that last night; not even a lot of it. Two fucking touchdowns wins this game. We can’t get two motherfucking touchdowns? And the third down...

HC Ryan Day (B1G Coach of Year, B1G Champion, National Champion)

I was on board with the laid back efficiency-focused offense during the season, but felt sure that he could flip the switch to an attacking aggressive offense when it became necessary. Either he couldn’t, wouldn’t, or didn’t realize it was necessary last night, because he sure AF didn’t. That...

    2025 tOSU Offense Discussion

Our lack of at least apparent urgency on offense was disturbing. It was like we didn’t realize we were in a fight. Last week we did and it paid off. This week it was like we were flipping channels from a barcolounger. Does it have to take 8 seconds to get a running play open?

So, how soon can we get Daboll in here?

DE C.J. Hicks (National Champion, transfer to USF)

Arvell has shown, more than shown, that if you buy in and work, you can be a successful first year starter in this offense. That's my best hope for CJ. While I doubt he'll be a starter, if he puts in the work, he'll play big minutes next season and hopefully the lights turn on.
