    Asinine Conspiracies

Well, Dub, have always marveled how at the end of an (any) argument, it's always my fault, even when she dented my car with hers, as I was parked in the driveway, waaaay over to my side....other issues as well. Maybe we do need a female as President, against Iranians, Russians, Chinese, etc.

Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 20 Straight B1G Titles)

Bestbuck, am I correct in thinking a win at the lower seeds counts as much as one at the top? Only ask because of the order in which they play. Doubles, then seed #1, #2, etc? Or maybe reverse?

Look Who's Transferring Now (The Portal)

Not a lawyer by any means, but limiting a player's opportunities by curtailing ability to transfer (let alone coaches), might be considered a restraint of trade occurrence, and open up college football to monopoly issues (once again). Now that significant money is on the table.

Dylan Raiola (QB Nebraska, transfer to Oregon)

Agreed. This is one backstory would pay to hear. Thought he did OK with the Huskers, but also believe they couldn't put enough talent on the field with him. Oregon with it's Nike loot seems like a better place, all around. Watched a HS game, and wasn't all that impressed, but gotta realize...

    Lane Kiffin (HC LSU)

Nevertheless, this fellow always seems to land on his feet. Tennessee, USC, Bama, Ole Miss, and now LSU. Pretty heady positions. Not terribly impressed by his accomplishments at each stop. But hey, seems like a dearth of competent coaches out there. Or he's got a good publicist.

Texas Longhorns (big hat, no cattle; please don’t Horns Down us)

Noted that Jamir Ffrench had transferred to TSUN. Shamefully admit watched the Xichigan spring game at the tail end of tOSU game....Mr. Ffrench was an tOSU recruit for a time, then decided to take his game to Texas. Guess he didn't like the food in Austin.

SF Colin White (transfer to ???)

Mayhaps he's getting in some court time, and back in portal after a 19 ppg, 9 rebs year. Getting recruited, or portaled over gives one an indication that he's good enough to come in, but not get heavy minutes. Heck, I'd skedaddle too. Doubt that MAC money is equal to what he's getting at...

    OL Sam Greer (Official Thread)

Dumb question, although my old eyes couldn't read the helmet names during spring game.....anyone care to share what they saw with the incoming freshmen OL's? Was hoping to hear Sam Greer's name, especially since both OT were sidelined. Certainly understand that the soph/jrs were going to get...

G Mathieu Grujicic (transfer to ???)

It appears that tOSU transfer bears a striking resemblance to those that tOSU is interested in portaling in. Makes me wonder if the known person might be better than the unknown person. Maybe temperment? Really don't know, but to me it's a head scratcher. Time will tell, I guess.

    Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Those are amazing numbers. Would that we could see what is like for tOSU, and/or other bigger schools. Thanks MPhillips.

What is tOSU, something like 13 in a row or somesuch?

    PGA Tour (Official Thread)

Dunno, the way he hit the big stick yesterday, all day, seemed to be the best solution, until it wasn't. Not that I'm near that level, but if you've been doing it, why would you change. Playing if soft, or safely, means you are overthinking it, and have seen that crater more often than not...

    2026-27 Ohio State Men's Basketball

For those with a short-term memory (me), Gene Smith led the charge to concentrate funds on the 'Director's Cup' athletes. Don't really know how successful that strategy was, but if memory serves, tOSU has finished in the top 6 (?) pretty much all the time. Football has been in the top 5 for...

Look Who's Transferring Now (The Basketball Portal)

Well, looks like tOSU will come in third, in that both of the other teams footballwise are in the toilet, so might as well redirect it's assets into a program that only has to pay 5 players......sounds silly, but there might be a modicum of truth therein.

Special Teams QC Coach Nate Ebner (3x Super Bowl Champ, USA Rugby)

The Little Engine that Could. (And Did!) Truly a great story with a great ending.

    2026-27 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Read somewhere that Calipari wanted to come to tOSU, but his quesiton of.....how much is in the 'pot' for good players. Apparently the answer from AD (?) wasn't enough for his liking. So why come to the Buckeyes when he could go to another program who could buy him better players to make his...

Look Who's Transferring Now (The Basketball Portal)

And mayhaps he might re-sign with his current team for more moola than before. One never knows, but in this market the 'grass is greener' has more than one meaning, it seems.

    2026-27 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Almost a Catch 22. The 'good' portal guys will command top dollar, and there's a race to get them. If you don't march up with a bag of cash, they'll go elsewhere. Take your time, they're gone, and the shopping list starts on the second tier. Less money, but more risky. Wait too long, called...

Columbus Symphony Orchestra wants to build $275 million performance space

Where we live in California, we have a symphony. Volunteer, and players are both graybeards and young fresh faces. Common thread is a love to play music. Sounds actually very good, and do enjoy sitting in the theater for a listen. Heartily recommend such a venue in Columbus, as there is an...

"We Choose to Go To The Moon!"

Well, if Zurp is correct, then that explains all the scifi novels where the earth is protected by a really old space fleet. Being housed in the hollow moon and all, when the older species come a'calling, we just launch and destroy those guys. Easy peasy. Actually, believe it's good that we...
