QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

every school has it's own bottom GPA they will accept but the NCAA's guideline is no less than a 2.5. Then, you are simply ruled ineligible to keep your football status for the amount of time set forth by the NCAA..this includes self imposed suspensions. If violated too many times, your...

actually, I think they are saying all the right things with the exception of Geiger's continual temper tantrums and badmouthing. NCAA problems or not.

I honestly couldn't say whether it was a result of the NCAA investigation or not. It could have very well come from some merchants looking after the University....see, not all merchants want to give things out, if that is the case.

Dude, that leather jacket looks a little more expensive than what a meager college athlete could afford. Ginn looks like he's wearing a $20 windbreaker.

"I always laugh when Playboy or Forbes magazine lists its "Top Party Schools in America." If they only knew. You can take the last 50 winners of that honor, combine them, and they wouldn't equal the stuff that goes on at OSU. You can't blame Tressel at all." Man, I've thought the same thing...

yeah, you basically got it right. They look you square in the eye and say, "this is a gift from people who care. It is your responsibility not to be caught with this money or say where you got it. I don't care what you do with it just don't bring any unwanted attention to yourself." no joke.

During an NCAA investigation, there is a gag order placed on the University. Tressel or Geiger can't say it has connections to the NCAA investigation regardless. They can choose to say no comment or they can say it is not related. What they said today has no effect on what I am thinking right...

QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

fred (and it's so weird that I live in Cincy and my dog's name is Fred), what we have here is a case of OSU self imposing an NCAA violation where it's the last game of the season and they have suspended a player for the rest of the 2004 season, so to speak. The applied for reinstatement with the...

QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

I know this because some of my family is friends with him and friends with some of his ex-coaches. He's never been an intimidating guy. He doesn't yell and scream at people to get his point across. He does make ultimatums to players if he suspects something. That's not a bad thing at all and you...

the problem is, they don't care. They just say keep it quiet. Some of these boosters have more power than you realize

cincyfred, applying for reinstatement means he violated an NCAA rule. If it's not academics, then it's accepting improper benefits. If he accepted something from a booster, he has to pay it back before being reinstated and only the NCAA can decide that. He is, in fact, suspended indefinetely.

I don't think there was any cars or anything extravagant either. I am leaning towards OSU having nothing at all to do with it and Smith just fucked up, but what I'm saying is, who is leading these players to the people handing out the money?
  13. GoofyBuckeye

QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

well, I won't go into shit here cause I started a rumor mill thread on this. Tressel's problem is he doesn't intimidate anyone. It's a players' dream to have someone like him around. They can do whatever the hell they feel like.

QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

I'm not at all surprised by this. Very disappointed to say the least, though. When I have people I trust telling me, before any of the Mo C shit was made public, that something could be very wrong in Columbus, that Tressel may have some involvement, and that there may be more players, current...

QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

Troy Smith Ok...someone had to start a thread up.. I heard last summer that there may be a few players dumb enough to take money from boosters. Even going as far as to say the same people that helped out Mo may be still out there helping current players. Either Tressel really is or was...

QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

I'm very interested to find out the connections here..meaning, did Troy get his cash from the same people as Mo? Some things tell me it's possible. Remember, Maurice and Smith are tight. Some of us have heard some serious character issues with Troy while he was at OSU, even before he ever took a...

Alan, you're right, it's not grades. I am pretty sure it has to do with something we don't want to hear about.
  18. GoofyBuckeye

QB Troy Smith (2006 Heisman Trophy Winner)

This must be about what one of the people telling me about possible OSU violations was referring to....that during the NCAA investigation, they will probably dig up a name or two from the current team. Holy shit.

This is fucked up...I know Troy and Clarett are friends...I hope to god he didn't do something stupid like take some money or something.
