Just listening to these Bjork interviews, there's no way Day is fired before next season.* He is doubling down and supporting Day to the fullest.
*An ugly, blowout loss to Tennessee could always change things, though. But even with a close loss, I don't seem him making a change. He is intent on...
Here's the thing - the 18 to 22 year olds are not the problem. They never have been. And even IF they were, I wouldn't care.
What I do care about, however, is when the coaches, the adults, are failing the 18 to 22 year olds and causing them to lose.
Luck played a part in those games, yes, but so did coaching malpractice.
And it's unacceptable to lose games due to coaching malpractice (whether in part like those games or fully like Oregon and scUM this year).
We have to win 4 games in a row against top 10 teams at this point.
You can bet...
Something I thought about this morning: What ever happened to the pop/push pass play? We used to run that every game with great success.
I'm old enough to remember Paris Campbell catching one of those and zooming untouched for 80 yards to the endzone in The Game.
Why the hell was that play...
Agreed, and I think its why I care more than ever about The Game now, because I believe Day is incapable of winning a National Championship. So in my eyes, The Game IS our National Championship now.
I agree.
For you fellow Clevelanders, Ryan Day is to Ohio State what JB Bickerstaff was to the Cavs.
I've never been more certain that this program has peaked under Day and that we will never break through with him as our coach, just as I was with JBB and the Cavs.
Finding an upgrade will be...
I don't care, because we would still have time.
Not at all.
In fact, I think it would to speak to his trust in the defense, that they could still hold Michigan to a FG with an incredibly short field.
This is a really great point.
2019 Ryan Day was cold, calculated killer. He'd run circles around the fake hype, fake tough guy he's become today.
He should go back to going to war with his playcall sheet every night. That was the best version of Ryan Day we'll ever see.
