This is pure speculation on my part so take it in that respect. The B1G just expanded coast to coast, marginalized ESPN to the SE US, and has 3 out of the 4 networks broadcasting its games. My gut tells me the BIG's endgame is not to be an equal with the SEC.

The B1G wants to be the premier conference in the country in all ways (athletics, academics, ratings, etc). It doesn't get there with Miami, FSU, or even BC. I believe this will go the way its pretty much being reported.

NBC has a lot of reasons for not wanting ND in the B1G. If ND stays independent, in a few years if NBC wants out, they still have ND. If ND joins the B1G, NBC has nothing if they opt out of coverage.
