    2025 tOSU Offense Discussion

This kid is going to be a stud. 3rd and 7 just got much more difficult for opposing defenders.

Same. Knowles has done a great job at OSU, it would suck to lose him in a bidding war.

    Jim Knowles (DC Tennessee)

Ohio State football offers Jim Knowles extension that would make him highest-paid DC. https://www.dispatch.com/story/sports/college/football/2025/01/25/ohio-state-offers-defensive-coordinator-jim-knowles-contract-extension/77945473007/

I’m pumped to have Iggy back. He’s a veteran and a dog. You can’t have enough of them on defense.

You also neglect to point out the impactful plays he made. Think back to PSU. Trust me man, the holding and PI calls are maddening. Obviously he’s good enough to start for two years at OSU though, so there’s something to be said for the prospects of bringing him back for another year.

QB1 Julian Sayin (All B1G, B1G Frosh of Year, All American, National Frosh of Year, National Champion)

I’m fully aware that none of our expectations mean jack shit in the grand scheme of it all. Did I go on the Stroud thread and blow it up with negativity? Nope. I pride myself in being positive on this board and in the stadium. That being said, I was at that particular game with my buddy and...

I’m never a fan of backing away from competition. Iron sharpens iron.

Maybe. He does get a little too carried away, but I love how aggressive he plays. It’s much harder to coach that into someone than it is take scale it back.

Time to shine, young man. Go get it!

I have no problem with playing Texas early on. It gives us a chance to size up the competition and if things don’t go our way (Ala Oregon 24), it gives us something to build towards. I’m all for hardening the team up for the stretch run. It’s non conference so it really won’t impact us that...

QB1 Julian Sayin (All B1G, B1G Frosh of Year, All American, National Frosh of Year, National Champion)

I’m excited to see Sayin play but people need to temper their expectations at first next season. Hell, I remember being down on Stroud after the Oregon game his first season and we know how that turned out. I’d imagine he’ll struggle some against Texas and then settle in as the season...

    Jim Knowles (DC Tennessee)

My first thought when I read about this a few days ago was that Knowles could be playing 4D chess knowing that he’ll likely be the interim HC by mid season. That being said, I don’t see him leaving for a DC job at Oklahoma.

HC Ryan Day (B1G Coach of Year, B1G Champion, National Champion)

I'm going to chime in with an unpopular opinion here, but in the era of the 12-team playoff, the outcome of The Game won't carry the same weight going forward. The rivalry was born on the basis that it was the last game in the season, which usually dictated who won the conference and went to...

HC Ryan Day (B1G Coach of Year, B1G Champion, National Champion)

I don’t know coach Day personally, but I have run across him a few times over the years and my wife actually taught his son when they moved to Columbus from San Francisco in the middle of the school year when he was hired by Urbs. She had many interactions with Mrs. Day at school functions and...

Mission Accomplished. Well done, boys! This team now belongs to the ages! I’m so happy for coach Day and these players. This was a legendary run!

Here’s my note to coach Day. Talent > Toughness Let Notre Dame try to be the tough team tomorrow. Dont let them drag you into a pissing contest like Michigan did. Go blow them out with your superior talent. Get up on them early and don’t look back. Squash the spirit out of the Domers and...

Valid point. You don’t hit on all of them, but if he’s willing to let a veteran who was 1B with McCord last year walk…it seems like he’s pretty bullish on this kid.
