Minnesota is playing a zone defense, OSU only has a couple reliable 3-point shooters and the offense is really built to try and attack inside. This is where Chatman not being reliable hurts - if he could actually be smart with the ball and play with high IQ, he would be a good zone buster.
Minnesota 10-11 from the foul line (OSU only 5 attempts) - that's a lot for a team in the first half on the road. That's about the only thing the Gophers have going for them.
Former Duke star Kyle Singler is homeless and claims his money (earned $22M in NBA) was stolen from him. He has nothing but negative things to say about ... just about anyone, including Duke.

One thing of note I didn't see in the thread here is this was the first time UCLA has played a game at OSU since 1968. Crazy to think that is how long ago that the Buckeyes hosted the Bruins in hoops. That last game was in the middle of the Wizard of Westwood dynasty & today is the first time...
He might never play for OSU. Apparently his eligibility could end when the next court hearing happens, January 30th. They must have him on the rocket docket.
Very unexpected. I suppose the idea that he relied on inaccurate medical advice at PSU last year and would have had another full season but for that bad advice (presumably from a university authority figure) made a difference. It is difficult to join a team mid-season and make an impact, I...
I think the rules are completely different. My understanding is if you play in any games at all from the mid-point game of the season onward, it counts as a year of eligibility in basketball. That's part of why I don't think Ojianwuna is likely to play now, he'd have to give up an entire year of...
Interestingly, Buffalo players lured both Kent State and Ohio U. players into practically the same deal, (i.e., that Buffalo would fail to cover the first half spread in favor of the opponents). Apparently there were FaceTime conversations that took place to set it up.
Agreed. Plus, they protect players whose coach leaves in the spring by providing them specifically an out whenever that happens. The other thing is, now teams like OSU will not have the same excuse as last year of not participating in the Crown or NIT because of the transfer portal being open.
