I'm a 49ers fan so I watched the game yesterday. Objectively, he does not look like the 4th pick in the draft. He is playing slow. Hopefully he doesn't turn out like Okudah and Chase Young---2 guys who I would have bet on to be stars who didn't do much
Skenes v Greene on Wednesday with playoff implications is a game I wish I could go to. Kindof surprised the Pirates haven't shut him down considering it's a meaningless game for them on the road
Spellman had a better career than I remembered. Had 30 sacks through age 25 when his life started to spiral out of control and 43 for his career. Not bad. A lot better than another 1st off the bus guy, Vernon Gholston
I remember Steve Emtman when I was a kid. I was a fan of Napoleon Kaufman. I looked up the 1992 Emtman draft when he went 1st overall. Not a very good draft. The best players were like Troy Vincent, Darren Woodson and Jimmy Smith. Bengals took the immortal David Klingler. Alonzo Spellman went 22nd.
Espn is so weird. In their article today about the all time college coaches they only credit Woody Hayes with 3 national titles but of course credit Bear Bryant with his full 6
Underwhelming game, but still things to be happy with. Run game looked pretty good. The defense if it gets pressure on the QB like it did at times today is going to be very hard to deal with. Sayin obviously a little erratic. Tipped balls at the LoS are probably just going to be part of his game...
