Preparing Linebackers for the Pros (split from Marcus)
This is true, but there's a reason that OSU sends almost every one of their linebackers to the NFL.
I will still be surprised if we lose Dodson. Not floored or anything, but still surprised.
I honestly feel we have a better shot at Diggs than most people think, but not over 50%. If we don't land him, I'm betting Neal gets the full court press from UFM. That'll be the only remaining 2012...
I'm wondering how much bigger he is going to get. Two years left of high school could be not much at all or 50 pounds. Because if he's about done growing, then there's no way he gets an OSU offer as a DL.
Nate came into OSU as decent player, but never showed the speed or athleticism to get serious playing time. I saw Bam play in person a few times and that was my first impression. Not a bad player, but I didn't get the feel that he'll be a game changer in the Big Ten. A step or two slower than...
That's a good explanantion, Wad. Those national offers will be given to gauge and attract interest. They will not always commitable.
Also, UFM won't want to give an in-state kid an iffy offer because he won't want to take the risk of ruining a relationship with a coach/school/region in Ohio.
I don't think I would call Michigan loaded at any defensive position. Certainly not in the same breath as saying Ohio State is loaded at D-Line, because I think Michigan would take half of our players in a heart beat next year.
That's the key. With his size and athleticism, he'll be plenty fast if his routes are correct. Good route running will get you separation plenty, and in that case a 4.6 runner can do real damage. Jerry Rice is the perfect example.
This. As Urban says, you have to find as many ways as possible to get the ball into the hands of your best playmakers. Jalin is the type that you throw to, hand off to, and direct snap to.
