    DE C.J. Hicks (National Champion)

Staggered, but still, to my untrained in the particular context, too narrow, methinks. Wasn't at all suggesting he should have his hand down.

    DE C.J. Hicks (National Champion)

That seems like a really narrow stance. No base if OL gets any hand or body on you.

K Jayden Fielding (All B1G, National Champion)

Fair enough. After reading your posts, I agree that min/max may not be the right metric. What I meant was that what he did in the CFP was simply what he's supposed to do. Five for 5 with one of them being from 50 would be better, but 4 for 5 and missing a 50 should be what's at least expected...

RB Coach Carlos Locklyn (National Champion)

Obviously, we all love the job he's doing and how he does it. No one is criticizing him and no one wants soft running backs. My point, and not to be taken too seriously, is simply that the point you note that he makes actually makes the opposite point.

Since it's the off-season, does the Crunchy Cookie thing bother anyone else? I get it, we don't want our guys to be soft, duh, but why go to such a loud and lengthy effort propounding an analogy that is actually, to my mind, exactly what you don't want in a running back? Crunchy cookies are...

K Jayden Fielding (All B1G, National Champion)

All well and good, but what he did in the CFP is the minimum that he's supposed to do. The only reason it's being recognized is because of how he crapped the bed in The Game. Surely, we're planning to bring in some competition when the portal is open.

    CB Devin Sanchez (Official Thread)

That particular jump is critical. I'd work like hell to get and stay above 190 (not super easy when you're barely 5'8") when still seriously playing rugby. As a corner, I'd guess he puts on another ten, at most.

    QB1 Julian Sayin (National Champion)

That's certainly encouraging... unless you're Lincoln.

    2025 tOSU Offense Discussion

It would not surprise me at all if our 2025 rushing production exceeds that of the NC team.

And not only against ND, but generally speaking. That type of second half happened relatively frequently during his tenure.

    2025 tOSU Defense Discussion

All of which raises the question, what exactly was Knowles trying to do? It doesn't make any sense to me.

    TE Max Klare (Official Thread)

This is why I love the portal. Before, Klare plays three or four years and is the best TE in Purdue history. No chance at anything else; no B1G title game, no playoff, no NC. Ecstatic to have him and the others on board. On the other side, you've got guys who previously would've sat behind...

    2025 tOSU Offense Discussion

I think this is exactly what everyone needs to hear at this time of year. There’s plenty of time to settle in on a starter and neither of these guys (my undying bitch about Day) has gotten significant snaps. Let them compete and see who balls out. Throw TSC in there, too, to push them, at...

    2024 tOSU Defense Discussion

I think we're going to look back and Knowles' leaving will have been to our benefit. It was a shocking FU to Day and tOSU, but so be it and we move on. He may've caused new problems, but I'm trusting that Day hasn't repeated the issues with Knowles with Patricia. I'm hoping Day's found his...

More impressive tOSU true freshman performance leading to a national title?

    2025 tOSU Defense Discussion

As much as I liked the results as we were starting from the Coombs wreckage, Knowles' system, and he said it from the beginning, takes three years to fully implement. At some point, you've got to just be jerking yourself with that. Three years? If that's what it takes, then I'd say you have a...

    2025 tOSU Defense Discussion

To your point about him likely only being a two year guy, I like the co-DC move for Walton. That puts him right there administratively when/if Patricia leaves and he works under a second solid DC before possibly stepping in; See: Hartline, B., OC, tOSU.

More impressive tOSU true freshman performance leading to a national title?

I tried to jump off the train, but hesitated and jumped into the side of the door, and fell back for a two yard loss... somehow that seemed appropriate.

More impressive tOSU true freshman performance leading to a national title?

I think the inquiry between the two is: Which play by a true freshman in a national championship game was more critical? I honestly don't have an answer, but there are obviously only two choices: the MoC Strip and 3rdandJerimiah.
