OC/WR Coach Brian Hartline (National Champion)

The entire two-deep has gone #1. No idea how to track that, but it's got to be a record, regardless of position group; assuming multiple players, of course, RBs would be the obvious exception back in the day. Thinking Thurman Thomas and Barry Sanders and UGA may've had it more recently.

    DE Beau Atkinson (Official Thread)

I imagine that the coaches spoke with Jackson and Curry similarly as they did with Henderson last year before bringing Judkins in. The portal is fraught with locker room ego problems, but we've always seemed to manage and avoid that.

Always nice to beat UGA for talent. He's now a guy we don't see on the other side in a playoff.

Second team would be starters at a lot of Power 5 schools.

K Jayden Fielding (All B1G, National Champion)

And THAT is exactly the problem. I respect that he tried to work through it. Been there and that's baller, BUT tOSU shouldn't have to rely on a guy working through "a lot of “trial and error” in learning how to kick with an injured hip". That's poor special teams planning that degenerated...

    QB Lincoln Kienholz (National Champion)

We've all heard about Sayin's fast processing speed and quick release and those are phenomenal luxuries to have, but you have to be able to execute. Sometimes a pickup truck is what's necessary. Tough, gets the job done. That may what we have with LK. I'd certainly be happy with a more...

    QB Lincoln Kienholz (National Champion)

If he keeps improving, I like our chances with him. Howard showed that we can win it all with a guy who's a leader and athletic enough to move the chains. Worst case, he pushes Sayin to improve.

    DC Matt Patricia (Official Thread)

I just don't think Day squanders the post-NC karma reserve he's got on a bad DC hire. We can all speculate based on the past, but we don't really know anything until there's feedback from inside the Woody. What I'm reading from both the coaches and players is that they're glad Patricia was...

    DC Matt Patricia (Official Thread)

I think there's room for agnostic optimism without deeming it a home run. Follow the evidence. The evidence so far, while not in-game, has been in the weight and locker rooms and practice field and has been positive and articulated positively in contrast to Knowles. Maybe this doesn't...

My bad. Mods, please move to the Patricia thread or 2025 Defense, if there is one, if so inclined.

Yeah, we'll see how it goes, of course, but we can take note of what they're saying on the ground.

    DC Matt Patricia (Official Thread)

Reading the various DB interview quotes this morning about Matt Patricia I can't help but see/apply the contrapositive as to Knowles. It's way early, but everything I've read from the coaches and players makes me think Day nailed this DC hire.

    RB James Peoples (National Champion)

The metric being emphasized now more than I can remember is yards per carry. Given a reasonable, but not overwhelming, number of carries, that makes a lot of sense to me all the way around.

    RB CJ Donaldson (Official Thread)

I'm feeling pretty good about this guy. I like that he saw what a year at tOSU did for QJ and that he's taking, clearly by working with Mick and cutting that weight, his final year seriously. That will also be helpful for Peoples and the fact that two stars co-existed and won an NC last year...

    2025 tOSU Offense Discussion

I like Demario working at receiver rather than TE, as reported in the Cleveland article, above. TE room is loaded and at 215 he's a load to handle out wide.

Special Teams QC Coach Nate Ebner (3x Super Bowl Champ, USA Rugby)

This,,, and so when he demands that level of care and work on special teams, it will/should be better taken and executed.

And knows special teams! Shouldn't be a team weak spot.

    2025 tOSU Defense Discussion

Loving that defensive two-deep. No real surprises, but crazy that we're still as loaded with all of the '24 departures.
