  1. 2018 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Only changes I have on my projected list: RB: Zamir White (only a 3 hour driving difference, both sides say he favors OSU. Tony and Urban will give all they have to sway mom) for Tavion Thomas (With the academic stuff going on at Dunbar, I don't think we touch this one) OL: I have Matthew...
  2. 2018 FL DT Nesta Silvera (Miami Signee)

Really hope we can flip this guy. Big guys with this level of nastiness, hand power and motor are so rare. Why he's rated so low is beyond me.
  3. 2018 FL DE/LB Andrew Chatfield (Florida Signee)

Didn't realize it until last night, but Chatfield won the Alpha Dog award for the whole Miami Opening Regional. To do that while only putting up an 85.8 Nike rating shows how good he is when it comes to just playing football. The OL can't even touch him in that video. His teammate Silvera was...
  4. 2018 FL DT Nesta Silvera (Miami Signee)

The common thread that sticks out to me about Vincent, Cox, Chatfield, Silvera and Parsons is their effort level. People love to throw out the high-motor talk, but these guys really embody it. When you're rotating as much as we do, that's exactly what you want.
  5. 2018 FL DE/LB Andrew Chatfield (Florida Signee)

4.92 isn't a huge deal in a vacuum (Cox ran 4.95), but when you're below average size and you test average or below average in all the main physical evals, people are going to question upside. That said, the kid is an awesome high school DE with great stats and a bunch of heart. Sometimes those...
  6. 2018 FL DE/LB Andrew Chatfield (Florida Signee)

Congrats and welcome to the buckeye family! As I meantioned earlier today - while he may not necessarily be an elite athlete at DE, he's a tenacious player who is fun to watch. Excited to see the player he becomes.
  7. 2018 FL DE/LB Andrew Chatfield (Florida Signee)

Yeah, unless this is a Parris Campbell situation where he's only like 14 right now, it doesn't seem possible for him to grow enough to be a DT.
  8. 2018 TN DE Greg Emerson (Tennessee Signee)

I love this guy on film, but I remember he said something recently about not caring about winning, he just wants go somewhere he can best position himself to personally succeed. If there's one way to scare Urban off, I would think it would be saying something like that.
  9. 2018 FL DE/LB Andrew Chatfield (Florida Signee)

First step is decent, 10 yard burst looks pretty good, but his 40 is 4.92 laser and he's only 6'2, 221. He doesn't look overly long but plays with a nasty edge. It's hard to project where he'll end up because he doesn't appear to have the athleticism we look for in an OLB, and I'm not sure his...
  10. 2018 TX DB DeMarvion Overshown (Texas Verbal)

DeMarvion Overshown, University of Texas Good for Herman. As I said a few posts back - this dude is a baller.
  11. 2018 FL ATH Amari Burney (Florida Verbal)

Announcing tomorrow. Love this guy's potential. 6'1, 215 with 4.44 laser speed. The tea leaves say Florida, but I would love to surprise some people and add him to the class.
  12. Rondale Moore (WR Purdue Boilermakers)

For anyone wondering just how good of an athlete this kid is: That #3 next to his name is for his Nike+ rating national ranking. The other two kids above him ran in the 4.5s. In case anyone is wondering, that laser 4.33 is good for the best in the country at The Opening regionals, and one of...
  13. Zamir White (RB Georgia)

https://www.dawgnation.com/football/dawgnation-daily/georgia-football-podcast-recruiting-zamir-white-uga-05-31-2017?_ga=2.124083523.871395371.1496248240-805420963.1496248240 Podcast from Land of 10's SEC sister site. Includes an interview with Birm.
  14. Zamir White (RB Georgia)

For real. Pretty much every recent report out there has us as his favorite. I'll take being in what appears to be a two-horse race for the top RB any day, especially with a team that is floundering on the recruiting trail. If it wasn't for the significant announcement date, most Buckeye fans...
  15. Jaiden Woodbey (DB Florida State, transfer to Boston College)

I mentioned this in another post, but the first time I saw his junior film I thought of Darron Lee in high school. He's a good athlete, but with his frame, it's hard to imagine he's going to stay under 225 after he gets into our strength program. Couple that with him running a 4.85 at his...
  16. 2017 tOSU Defense Discussion

I have a running graphic document I made/ use to brainstorm formations, personnel combinations and the like. I've been in there today messing with the much-discussed 5 DL front, and it really doesn't seem that farfetched. My guess at this point is they will use what's basically 4-3 Under, where...
  17. 2018 FL DB Tyson Campbell (Georgia Signee)

Absolutely. Both can be offense killers. And the reality is, we're already loaded at both spots, so getting either Parsons or Campbell would be comical at this point. The fact that we're debating between a guy could end up the fastest 200m runner in OSU football history and a DE who is winning...
  18. Jayson Oweh (DE Penn State Nittany Lions)

Yep. His film is so raw but once he sheds a block and starts to take off in pursuit, it's a scary sight. Getting Young, then Oweh, then Harrison would certainly meet Urban's need to load up on freak athletes at DE.
  19. 2018 FL DB Tyson Campbell (Georgia Signee)

Parsons, Cook, Surtain Jr., White.. Those guys are all so good and near the top of my list, but we saw the effect having a freak in centerfield can have on a defense. I think Campbell + Coach Mick could result in a 6'3, 210 nightmare safety for opposing offenses. Even though we have 2 safeties...
  20. 2018 FL DB Tyson Campbell (Georgia Signee)

Campbell is the #1 remaining defensive target on my board for '18. He's truly one of the fastest HS juniors I've ever seen. Then throw in that he's 6'3, a hard hitter, has good ball skills, plays on a great team against great competition... forget about it.
