McNeese St buries wide-open corner 3 to go up 51-29 with 8:05 to go, meanwhile Clemson mascot sitting in stands shakes head. Yeah, they're done. I will say if McNeese can play with this kind of energy again, they should make the Sweet 16.
I'm not sure I've seen an 18-2 power conference team have as poor a first half in an opening game of the NCAA tourney as Clemson is. I realize they weren't prepared for McNeese St running a zone defense against them, but that doesn't excuse you from getting outworked.
What's wrong with the ACC this year? Only 4 teams in the tournament, which is historically low, especially for a conference with so many teams. Louisville was 18-2 in ACC play and only got a #8 seed (and was promptly routed by Creighton). Clemson was also 18-2 in the ACC, and looking like...
McNeese St is looking quick and aggressive. Good traits to have as the underdog. They're beating Clemson to the ball. If they keep that up 40 minutes, this could easily be an upset.
