Interesting sidenote, Woody's second loss to SCUM (1953 in Ann Arbor), OSU was actually favored. But 5 interceptions and tackling that in media accounts of the game was described as "miserable" sealed their fate 20-0.
It's stupid stuff like this (5 interceptions in 1953 vs 5 long TD's this...
Having lived through the Cooper years, I get the concern that we would every return to those awful years (and performances)
That said there was another coach at OSU that started 1-2 against Michigan. He even was under pressure from those that did not think he was a fit as coach.
Woody beat...
I think one reason southern schools are ahead of those like OSU is that They had an existing "shadow" infrastructure that was funneling money to players. Those boosters just came out of the shadows with NIL. OSU and others are building out this infrastructure on the fly.
Digging deeper, on the first 2 NW drives ( a 3 and out and their scoring drive) they had 65 yards on 9 carries. Most were from the wildcat (many with QB motion-likely something that was a new wrinkle for NW). That means after adjusting to the NW game plan, OSU allowed 165 yards on 46 carries for...
I think the NCAA (or it's power 5 football replacement) could put a small amount of the toothpaste back in the tube. The key will be making sure they concentrate on the behavior of their member institutions (and not the players or collectives).
What could they do
1) Regulate the behavior and...
I think that Lewis shows that Day thinks this is a NC potential year. Ruggles is money on FG and EP, but he doesn't have a big leg. Lewis can make longer FG, but more importantly, puts kickoffs through the end zone.
The Athletic has a recent story that a high level recruit has signed a NIL deal for $8 million deal. They were allowed to look at the contract to verify it under the condition that they not disclose the recruits name or the team he will chose. Those that want to believe that this is not now an...
While this is true of every single normal human being, it doesn't seem to be the case with players from this team. The only difference is the nature of the talk. In this case, their back up QB, is talking about how they are going to take it to us, just like last year. But coming off an OSU win...
Bad take number 2.
1) Admit you don't know anything about what (or who) you are talking about.
2) Throw in Hunter Biden because you think it is some sort of comeback.
3) Ignore multiple post in this thread that said OSU CAN'T Greenlight this NIL Foundation.
Suggestion- Do your research...
Yeah, someone from a long term Columbus business family that funded the basketball arena at OSU is just like a currently imprisoned, convicted felon who ran a Ponzi scheme that rained cash, hookers and blow on "the U's" football players.
THE Ohio State University would have to approve the use of it's name which would be very, very unlikely if only for the reason that it would cause confusion with its own fundraising.
I agree that there are issues on the defensive coaching staff and I am happy for then changes that are coming. My only point was that for every player that idolized Woody there was one that hated him.
