No, I think that runningbacks who have averaged nearly 4 rushing TDs a game will have 4 in the game, and I think there will be a field goal. I only put 1 throwing TD on the QB.

Statistical analysis has shown that on average a turnover creates a point swing between 6 and 7 points. I used 6 to be generous. A few other observations. SNG77 - I laughed at your parody. Could you redo it using real stats like I do? That picture of the geek on the phone looks almost...

Nowhere does my post on the DBs say that the backups were better than the starters. Although since you mention it Ross (2005) was not only better in coverage than Cedric Griffin circa 2004, he was better in coverage than Cedric in 2005, but Cedric got the nod on seniority and run support.

There seems to be a common misperception among Buckeye fans that you will have one of the best offenses in the country next year. I don't know why anyone would think that given that the tOSU was average last year, yes average. If you insist at only looking at he games that Smith started, in...

I don't think it will be a closee game at all if turnovers are even. If we take last year, Texas won by three, was -2 in turnovers worth 12 and being at home is a six point swing. If last years teams played in Austin, Texas should have been favored by 21. Texas returns more experienced and more...

I don't know what stars has to do with it, but I do know the starting four will be better than last year. Here is a comparison going into 2005 Vs 2006. Tarell Brown 2005 >> Tarell Brown 2004 Michael Griffin 2005 > Michael Huff 2004 compare them if you don't beleive me. Aaron Ross 2005 > Cedric...

Thank you for all your kind words and constructive feedback. Sorry I missed the tOSU QBs Vs the Texas Defense, I had some business to attend to. I think Smith can be reasonably productive. Texas of course has a lot of practice defending a dual threat QB, so I don't expect a huge game, maybe...

Things have been jumping around here. I'll first say that my prior post was meant to get you thinking that Ginn might not be the end all be all with regard to punt returning. I do think he is top 10, and maybe top 5. I think Ross is top 5 going into the season. In any case big punt and kick...

If you say so, although I don't agree. It is one thing for a team that averages nearly 400 yards passing to have better passing stats then you, it is something else entirely when a team that averages 300 yards a game rushing has better passing stats then you.

Thanks. There is no way for Texas to be compared to tOSU with regard to quarterback, given the lack of data. This is the one area where Ohio State has the advantage.

According to the NCAA there were 34 punt returners better than Ginn last year. Ross was only one of them. Rank Player Pos Cl Gm Puntret Yds TDs Ydsret Retpgm 1 Maurice Drew, UCLA RB JR 12 15 427 3 28.47 1.25 2 Quinton Jones, Boise St...

The stat guy has arrived. tOSUs returning runningbacks had 1804 yards and 10 TDs last year UTs had 2591 yards and 42 TDs. 10 does not equal 42. UTs RBs are better and have proven it on the field. tOSUs returning receivers had 1595 yards and 7 TDs UTs had 2165 yards and 21 TDs. 7 does not equal...

I believe that brings us full circle. Did he do something I am not aware of? Before something can be considered factual, there has to be facts supporting the claim. J-Mee Samuels ran a 10.08 FAT 100 meters last year. That is an example of someone who has a future as an elite sprinter.

True, with the difference being that Texas fans don't claim Charles is an Olympic level athlete. If he does a 10.05 then we might, since that may be good enough to make the relay.

If he has stayed in track he might have developed into an Olympic class runner, we'll never know. One thing is certain, he wasn't even close to that level in high school.

A 10.5 hand timed 100m is equivalant to a 10.74 FAT using the standard 0.24 conversion. He roughly needs to cut 0.7 off that to make the 4x100relay. (Jamaal is a couple tenths shy too) The Olympics doesn't use highschool hurdles. His 13.40 probably means he could run a sub 14 second 110HH, but...

I don't think the stadium will have that much of a bowl shape. The plan is to bring the end zone seating in toward the end zone, and in the process it will be squared off at the corners. They would have to destroy part of the existing East and West stands to make a Michigan style bowl, and that...
