What I left open was the 6 point swing due to change in venue and 3 point margin from last year, which means it will take +3 or even +4 turnovers for tOSU to play an even game with Texas. But, I didn't want y'all to get to get too discouraged.

Someone on Hornfans has aked why tOSU has been so bad on the road (12-6) over the past 4 years. I thought one of you supply an answer. http://forums.hornfans.com/php/wwwthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=football&Number=4353034&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=0&fpart=

What's you definition of a blowout? I think the game could be close if tOSU is +2 in turnovers like last year.

I was listening to Phil Steele yesterday and he said some of the Vegas Casinos have tOSU as a 1 1/2 point favorite. He said he has Texas as a 3 point favorite.

My understanding from reading medical web sites is that buckeyes are only good for hemorrhoids and other vascular diseases.

I didn't say the first one. Your offense is not to be feared because they are average. tOSU played 7 teams that averaged giving up over 400 yards of offense. You averaged 400 yards of offense, so what. On defense Rod Wright and Aaron Harris were injured much of the time and didn't play that...

Since you obviously haven't been following the thread or Texas for that matter. We don't know yet if Ramonce Taylor is returning to the team and he had two of the big offensive plays. Someone asked if I watch games, and the answer is yes, I do.

Yes, tOSU had 14 offensive plays over 40 yards, 9 by returning players. Texas had 19 Offensive plays over 40 yards, 12 (maybe 14) by returning players. UT does have plenty of "big play catalysts" returning. They have more than tOSU.

Charles, has to go at the top of the list, with Taylor second if he makes it back. Pittman, Quan and Sweed all made big plays at WR. Those 5 all had plays over 40 yards. Ross had a couple TDs on punt returns. If you use 40+ yard plays as a measuring stick Texas easily returns more big play...

That isn't my mindset. At the beginning of every season, if you calculate the probabilites, even the best teams are likely to finish with 2 loses (Miami in the old Big Least is a counter example, granted, but it requires a much weaker conference than the current top 5). It takes a little good...

If you look at strength of schedule (NCAA) last season, the Big 12 had 6 teams in the top 25; 1, 7, 10, 12, 20, 21 (OU, UT, Tech, KU, CU, A&M). The Big 10 had 4 teams in the top 25; 3, 4, 6, 13 (tOSU, UM, NW, MN) Tell me again which conference is tougher top to bottom? It looks like the Big...

I know you said just kidding, but to be clear Texas returns runningbacks that scored 30 TDs last year (42 if Ramonce comes back), versus 21 for tOSU. And, Texas returns receivers who scored 18 TDs (21 with RT) last year versus 7 for tOSU. I'm not worried about Texas scoring touchdowns. The...

So you are counting on Charles having another big loss on a pitch on an end around, I doubt that will occur. I also doubt Hawk and Carpenter show up to tackle him. As for Hamby, he shouldn't have been in the game that play. After shoving Michael Griffin through the cameramen behind the endzone...

I can't figure out how you are going to break 20. Looking at last years game 4 of your FGs came when you were given the ball within your kickers FG range. I don't expect a repeat of that kind of luck. Last year you had one good TD drive and on the other FG, you still got the ball on the tOSU 47...

I certainly don't think they will reach 65%, but they are much better throwing QBs than Vince was as a freshman, so 59-62% wouldn't surprise me. This is largely due to the quality of our receivers, Shipley and Finley particularly are like magicians when it comes to catching ordinarily...

    Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

Last year Charles averaged 7.4 yards per carry while Vince averaged 6.8. So if Charles gets the 6 called runs that Vince used to get, the total yardage for those carries will be similar. At this point if the QBs have net positive rushing yardage that will be OK, but they are the type who...

What you neglect to consider is that more than half Vince's 12 carries will go to Charles and Young, and the QBs should still make 20 yards or so a game, as they are both good runners. The net effect on those 12 carries will likely be 10 -15 yards a game. Do you really think those 10-15 yards...

Not true. You have failed to consider that Texas slipped in the rushing defense ratings only after Crowder, Robison and Harris were injured. Before that UT was giving up 93.3 yards per game, easily top ten. You probably don't sniff the 111 yards rushing you had last year.
