No, as I said in my practice reports Ulatoski has been starting at RT with Blolock moved into RG. Mack announced today that Ulatoski would start if we played today. He also said Colt would start and Hunter would kick under those circumstances. Ulatoski has a greyshirt year too, so he is more...

If he doesn't think a Texas runningback with over 2000 all-purpose yards will get Heisman consideration then there isn't much point arguing about it. But to be clear Jamaal had 95 all-purpose yards against tOSU and it would have been 107 if he hadn't botched that toss on the end around. And...

As far as Ulatoski goes, as impressed as I am with him, I'll defer to the judgement of our former graduate assistant offensive line coach (Now OC at Rice) who said he was the best of all the lineman. As for Finley I'll just say that you will be convinced the first time you watch him.

Marcus was the starting QB and safety on that team. I don't know about the near as often comment, as I didn't go to any of their games. Marcus had nearly twice as many tackles. That said Michael is more athletic now, but I think Marcus has a chance to become a very good safety (probably not AA...

I don't know how I missed Studdard. He is already getting consideration as a second team AA. Our QB and Kicker also have a good shot at being freshman AAs too.

At OT we had an All-American last year, Scott, we have one this year Blalock, we will have one next year Hills, and Ulatoski will be AA after that. At DT we had one last year, Wright, we have one this year Okam, and Roy Miller will be AA after that. At DE Crowder will likely be AA, but Robison...

I agree, since we don't have a fullback who plays at the level of everyone else. When the want an extra blocker they will go with 2 TEs, which I suspect to see at least 25 plays a game, some with Finley splitting out wide. Davis also likes to bring the flanker through the backfield a lot...

During the first two practices they were under center about half the time. When they were in the shotgun there wasn't nearly as much zone read either. Colt tending to hand off from the zone read 9 times out of ten, while Snead ran it more. I suspect that Colt won't get as many zone read play...

Just as a historical note Texas has played in 5 of those 36 1 versus 2 matchups, so this could be nuber 6 (Depending on where the AP ranks us and which poll you want to count). UTs record in those 5 games is 4-0-1.

I think he just means that they will stick with their standard style of playcalling rather than turn ultraconservative the way they used to do against OU.

You are correct that there is only so much to see in shorts, but they still contend with DEs who are trying to pass rush. Hills shows good strength holding them off and great footwork and footspeed keeping them to the outside, and preventing the inside moves too. I doubt he allows a sack all...

I'm planning on re-watching our game so I'll look at the TEs some. After watching practice again last night, I cannot understate how good the runningbacks looks. Jamaal looks faster than ever. He doesn't even do the hop that he used so much last year, he just slashes and runs by people. As Mack...

Frost, ouch! I guess that Nicol is not that much of a drop-off in terms of starter, but it sure hurts your depth. Do you use 2 TEs much? I don't recall seeing it. What do you think the impact to our game will be, if any? By the way I went to practice last night, and the DBs got some payback...

I've heard he's 240, but he looks 220 or 230, as it is solid muscle on his nearly 6-6 frame. I watched him a couple times go 1 on 1 against the DEs, and he did OK. He doesn't have the strength to stop a big rusher cleanly, but did a good job redirecting them, and he is fast enough that they...

I went to practice yesterday and thought I would pass along my observations. QBs Colt McCoy is way ahead here. When the receivers went 1 on 1 against DBs, he was consistently able to throw the ball where the receiver and only the receiver could get to it. His accuracy is better than anyone I've...

I will be there and I will let you know my impressions, through burnt orange goggles of course. You are right about no pads, not even shells the first two days. There won't be much to tell other than the overall fitness, and 7 on 7 passing drills.

This will be fun. The media loves a 1 vs. 2 matchup and will be fellating both our teams the next 5 weeks. It will be unreal.
