    Game Thread Game Two: #1 Ohio State 24, #2 Texas 7 (9/9/06)

Since you missed me so much you went trolling for my posts elsewhere I will expand on my comments on your back 7, so you get the Texas perspective. I'll pick someone off the Texas roster with equivalent talent and experience to each of your starters. I'll start with the easy one. Brandon...

That statement had nothing to do with a 50% probability. But rather, the statistics related to something that has already happened is irrelevant to what happens in the future. For example if the odds of a team going undefeated is 10% a year then the odds of going undefeted in consecutuve years...

Since when was the probablilty of winning every football game 50%, that's nonsense.

The odds of going undefeated two years in a row are irrelevant. The odds right now of Texas going undefeated two years in a row is identical to going undefeated one year. Having heads one time you flip the coin does not influence what happens next time.

Texas should be favored over every team on our schedule. (The oddsmakers and betters may be off with their analysis, but that's not my problem.) However, the difference between a 2 loss and undefeated season always involves some luck. I have no idea if we will be lucky enough to win those games...

That comment is not anywhere close to being true. His passing improved tremendously during the offseason. That's why he went from being an average passer the year before to the best in the country by the end of the regular season. The truth is that Vince didn't work that hard, either in drills...

First, I don't think the temperature by itself is an issue. But depth is a bigger issue in high temperatures. That said, it was 104 in my Austin Neighborhood at 6:00 yesterday, and only 100 at 6:00 today. The forcast looks like it will be around 100 for the next week. If we don't get a major...

Ignores what? It was your stat people that credited you with 0 pressures, I didn't make that up. I think you should have had two, when Vince was in the grasp while throwing the INT, and for Pittcock's rush during the Witner sack. I guess your scorekeepers where too busy documenting the more...

I thought I would share some numbers I dug up on head to head competition between the ten all time winningest programs. I considered scoreboard, all time head-to-head records, winning percentage and total wins. Then assigned a value from 1 to 10 in each category and added them together. The...

In a thread on a Texas message board it sounded like the cops plan to eject anyone caught carrying alcohol. It's a bit of a risk.

I haven't read those posts, I've been busy. I don't know what stats you are referencing. I just see TS Vs VY crap, that I would rather not comment on. As for Colts play against the one's the reports from Wednesdays scrimmage is that he was effective against the first team too.

Saturday Texas Scrimage Report Colt McCoy was nearly perfect today. He had two drives against the #2 defense and the team scored 2 touchdowns. He went 5 of 6 for 68 yards. If I didn't know his class I would say he played like a Jr or Sr with a years worth of starts under his belt.The...

Check the box score before you call someone stupid. OSU had 0 QB pressures.

I'm not sure I get the point. UTs opponents had 14 sacks and 7 QB hurries all last season, and several of those were against Nordgren and Matt McCoy. In comparison Ohio State gave up 18 sacks and 29 QB Hurries. On the flip side Texas had 34 sacks and 116 QB hurries. Opponents did not pressure...

I hope you realize that the Texas coaches are throwing every type of blitz they can conceive of at the QBs, so they can recognize them, and the O-line faces them in the process. Zone blitz' are part of the standard UT defense package, so they are something the offense sees repeatedly.

Still need some work on those, or at least the Mr. Fusion. I have a couple patents on high intensity x-ray generation from vacuum arc discharges, and the technique should work will with a tabletop fusor. I plan to save up 10K over the winter and build it next spring. And, no I am not joking...

The good thing is that he has two Hendricks and Bednarick watch list DEs going at him nearly every down in practice, plus a couple 4.5 40 DEs to help him hone his footwork. And, you couldn't ask for a better guy than Blalock to have your back. He'll be fine. It's nice being able to plug in...
