It was the shovel pass. When McCord did the shovel pass to Stover in the 1st quarter, I knew he was relaxed and able to let loose a bit and play. He's not always thinking so hard about the reads and progression, etc. That stuff is important, of course, but at some point the cerebral stuff...
Imagine a federal fucking judge worried more about her professional reputation than stumping for some foosball team (which she might not even GAFF about).
But, yeah, I'm a bit stunned as well.
ESPN gives zero fucks about the integrity of the game. To them, it's a business, nothing more. This scandal means clicks and eyeballs, so that's good for business. From ESPN's perspective, this is GOOD for the game.
I read it is they are saying that they didn't know how Stallions got the information about the signals. It's a "we just thought he was really really smart" defense.
This defense 'shouldn't' help, since:
He was doing illegal things.
The team benefited.
Pretty much all there is to it.
