True, but tOSU purposefully spends the money on non-revenue sports, etc. in addition to revenue sports to field a very robust roster of olympic sports (how many schools boast national titles in fencing, pistols, gymnastics AND football in the same decade?) and to make sure its facilities...

....and be sure to listen to whomever tells you that $3MM guaranteed is actually just $1MM or so after taxes, agents, accountants, lawyers, publicists, etc., and spend/save accordingly. PLEASE!

Mili, no one is saying that staying for a senior year can't work out for a player, and I think most of us would be happy if Hank decided he wanted to get his degree, win a national championship, loved his teammates too much (or girlfriend, in Cam's case, right?), etc., etc. Its just that there...

Don't disagree with what you're saying at all. Just saying I wouldn't expect all parties - especially politicians - to remain strong in the face of money. Especially in an all-or-nothing scenario, like either KU gets in without KSU (for example) or the state of Kansas gets locked out.

The 64 schools would have a case - nothing is keeping the remaining 60-or so schools from playing games, creating a tournament, signing TV contracts, etc.

I don't think Slive or Delaney would consider any of the left behinds to be their problem(s)... when faced with a potentially $30MM or $40MM annual payday after the dust settles on expansion or sticking with the other big school in your small state on principal, I'm not sure the regents...
