  1. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

NWCA Dual Championship Series February 19th @ 1pm at Cornell (12-2) vs. No. 4 Ohio State (11-2). The match will be covered by Trackwrestling.com http://s200.trackwrestling.com/tw/PortalPost.jsp?TIM=1487011987961&twSessionId=vnmgznkayufcmlt&postId=349210076 http://intermatwrestle.com/articles/17771
  2. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Solid win today against a gritty Minnesota team. Dual started at 197 and Moore dropped a very tight match against Pfarr. Moore has really closed the gap since the CKLV. Fox filled in for Snyder and got teched. Jrod was down 6-0 and won in OT against Lizak. Lizak gassed at @ 4:00 and Jrod still...
  3. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

I think if Hayes is 100% next season we see Luke redshirt. Then he comes in and starts at 133 in 2018-2019. But you never know what Tom Ryan might do. I cannot see Nato going up to 141 next year. He would be giving up a ton of height and his strength would essentially be negated by that leverage.
  4. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Solid win tonight vs Nebraska. OSU won all the toss up matches - 184, 197, 133 & 141. I thought Martin wrestled his best match all season. Very important win because that essentially locks up the 3 seed at the B1G which keeps him out of Nickal's side. He'll get another shot at Brooks. Some other...
  5. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

This was one of the matches where the size difference was really apparent. Ashnalt looked a full weight class bigger than Pletcher - height and weight. Ashnault sets that tilt up from standing and can hit it against anyone in the country. Luke made the mistake of getting his elbow trapped. The...
  6. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Nice bounce back tonight. No Jose, Ryan or Bo in the lineup. Rutgers isn't a great team but they have a couple decent wrestlers and then one really good guy in Ashnault.
  7. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

The Rieman Invite is in Delaware, OH. I live in Delaware... the state. :) The only tournament of note here in Delaware is the Beast of the East which is right behind the Ironman as one of the best. Saw Kyle and Myles wrestle in that many times. On Mattox he looks like a good pickup though...
  8. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

And as good as Dean Heil is I doubt he gets more than a 3 point win over Guilibon and PSU could win 8 matches. I think the ranking services are slow on the uptake this year. They seem to be hanging onto the Nov rankings way too long. The questions PSU had going into this year were: Can Suriano...
  9. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

As frustrating as last night was I think it's important to put it into context. Tom Ryan has created a great program and has elevated OSU to a place it's never been before. In some era's that would have been good enough to win multiple team titles. The knock on wrestling for years was that it's...
  10. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Bo Jordan will not wrestle tonight per the PSU guy covering their team. That sucks
  11. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Big match tomorrow night Projected matchups: Thoughts... some tough matchups and to win we'll need some upsets and a little luck. Back in November if you told me Jose would be a large underdog vs true freshman Suriano at 125 I would not have believed it. But that's where we are and Jose...
  12. Kyle Snyder (World Champion, NCAA Champion, OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST, 2018 AAU Sullivan Award Winner)

Kyle won the prestigious Yaryguin in Russia over the weekend. He outscored his opponents 11-0, 11-1, 11-1 and fall. Complete domination. Congrats Kyle
  13. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

My take on last night's match... trying to stay upbeat 125 - Jrod doesn't resemble the guy from Dec - they'll need to get that corrected quickly 133 - hard to draw any conclusions here because Laux ran and tied up all match - maybe would have expected more points but Nate looked frustrated and...
  14. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Nice article on Luke Pletcher. Hadn't realized that he and Gulibon are from the same town - Latrobe, PA. That will be a key match on 2/3. If Luke can keep the pace where he needs it to be, he'll win that match. http://triblive.com/sports/otherlocal/11816814-74/pletcher-state-wrestling
  15. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

  16. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

PSU is starting to look like the UConn women's b-ball of college wrestling - the top recruits out of HS every year that come in day one "college ready" combined with elite coaching and a mystic that is hard to overcome. It really comes down to bonus points and not having glaring holes in the...
  17. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

They have a ridiculous amount of talent on that team and next year they will be untouchable because the few they lose will be replaced by more talented wrestlers. This is what happens when you get the top kids every year and combine it with elite coaching.
  18. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Those rankings are pretty good. I'd swap PSU and OK St. Realistically everyone is chasing them this year. We'll know a lot more by B1G tourney time.
  19. Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Some very solid performances and a few that were not real promising. With Jrod it's either an injury, weight pull or simply reversion to the mean. Two matches in a row now where he was completely outclassed by unranked guys. NaTo looked awesome against a top 5 opponent and with Clark losing...
