Jared Mayden (S San Francisco 49ers)

FWIW, his brother is a 2018 dual threat QB that is very highly regarded. He didn't start this year, but is expected to this fall.

KS TE Josh Moore (Missouri signee)

What the heck? Decommitting from OSU and committing to an awful program that doesn't even have a permanent head coach at the present time? Obviously there is a ton more to this story.

    Out-Of-State Players To Watch

If Demario McCall and George Hill were not in the class of 2016, I wouldn't be surprised if OSU would have already offered Larkin. He's definitely similar to those two in terms of skill sets.

IIRC, I believe Vince Marrow was also trying to mentor Maurice Clarett while he was at OSU.

KS TE Josh Moore (Missouri signee)

Excepting JUCO kids, that would be Mark Bean, I believe. Jamie Sumner was a JUCO a few years later who I also believe went to high school in Kansas.

General Recruiting Discussion and Tangents (Merged)

Ted Ginn and Donte Whitner I believe committed on the same day, and at that point, both were recruited to OSU as cornerbacks. Granted, neither played that position at OSU, and I don't recall whether Whitner actually played any corner at Glenville, but it's as close as I can get. Korey Stringer...

RB Michael Weber (New Jersey Generals)

I'm glad Ohio State wasn't doing this stuff back when Chris Phenis/Curtis Enis was being recruited.

    Neville Gallimore (DT Dallas Cowboys)

OSU has done well with Canadian DL in the past, with Brent Johnson, Clinton Wayne, Szreko Zizacovic, and Derek MacCready all having solid careers at OSU. Hopefully Gallimore will be #5 (and the best of the lot).

    Out-Of-State Players to Watch

I can't believe I forgot Priestly. Also, Ken-Yon Rambo, Mark Garcia (JUCO), Darrell Lewis, Girmar Johnson, Kenny Green, Paul Breed (JUCO), Nicky Sualua, Garrett Shea, James Cotton (JUCO), Ron Paulsen (JUCO), Rowland Tatum, Ricky Johnson, Robert Murphy

    Out-Of-State Players to Watch

Austin Moherman (1997) and Jason Frank (1988) are the only two I can think of from California, off the top of my head. Coincidentally, Frank attended Travis Waller's high school.

OK DB Will Sunderland (Oklahoma Verbal)

If you count junior college transfers, Kevin Johnson from NE Oklahoma A&M. Besides him, I have no idea.

BPRT's Recap of the Class of 2014

When I see McLaurin's film it reminds me of Devin Smith's in a way. Smith's speed was unquestionable, but he showed little ability to make YACs and all his routes (all from the receiver position) were outside the hashes. McLaurin's film is quite similar. Obviously Smith has been relatively...

BPRT's Recap of the Class of 2014

I understand his point. McLaurin obviously has blazing fast top-end speed and great acceleration to go with it, but he's a work in progress with regards to his route-running and the finer nuances of the position. He also doesn't really have all that much wiggle to go with his speed either...

    David Njoku (TE Cleveland Browns)

IIRC, his appeal to the Big Ten was denied, but he and OSU are now appealing to the NCAA.

Except for the fact that Watson is already enrolled at Clemson.....

NJ OL Tommy Hatton (UNC Verbal)

That's an interesting statement considering OSU has offered James Daniels.

If defensive staff changes are coming, who should OSU be looking to hire?

Watching the National Championship game tonight, it occurred to me that Auburn's safety coach is also their co-DC. He is also African-American, which is definitely a big factor with this hire (rightly or wrongly -- I have no interest in debating it). I kinda doubt Meyer could get him out of...
