Very happy with the Shelton pick and the Erving selection could have been worse. Irving plays all three spots on the O-line. Insurance for Mack if he leaves but puts him at RT so they can move Schwartz to Guard. Bout fucking time. Again great first day for the Brownies.
Since 1980, here is the list of QB's drafted:
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/draft/QB-1980-now.htm
I will reference the QB's drafted the past 10:
2005: Cleveland drafted Charlie Frye in the 3rd; however they missed on Aaron Rodgers 1(24)
2006: No QB drafted and the only one...
To me, it's pretty simple. The Browns have many needs (and have had this problem for some time now). The big problem seems to be is they try and get cute in the first round instead of picking smart and they do reasonably well in the later rounds of the draft. They have 2 first round picks this...
Agree on Dupree. I don't think he is a fit for the 3-4 as an DE or LB. Armstead is an ideal end in this scheme but the Browns need a block eater like Shelton.
I sure hope the FO don't do something stupid but at this point I'm not holding my breath. They MUST improve against the run; more weapons esp. @ WR, and depth/upgrade on the OL. It has been difficult to identify who falls where in this draft. IMO, the IDEAL situation would be:
12 - Kevin White...
At this moment I would normally say F#@$ Bucky...but I won't. I'm pulling for Wisconsin but they will probably need a game like tonight's to beat Kentucky...if and when they beat Notre Dame.
I have not seen McConnell play this year but I have spoke to a few 'Zona fans that compare him to Aaron Craft. Not as tenacious of a defender but a much more polished offensive player than AC. Zona did not play their best game but OSU did play them pretty tough defensively for more than half the...
He would be smart to still go after one of Cooper, White or Parker with one of the Browns 1st round picks. They still need another weapon on the outside.
I wanted Hughes in the 2010 draft but he didn't fall into the 2nd round. Haden was a pretty darn good 1st round pick though. 2nd round was T.J. Ward (not bad) and fricking Hardesty @ 59. The RB with glass knees.
I went back and looked at most of the new mocks and how they played out and yes you are correct NF, Devin is late 1st and 2nd round so more than likely he will not be in the 3rd. However, there are some decent WRs in the mid to late rounds that are worth the picks instead of the Browns taking...
I am hoping White falls that far but doubt he does. After the top three of White, Cooper and Parker, there are some question marks about the next tier with DGB and Strong. Matter of fact I would until the 3rd and pick up in order either Agholor (USC), Smith (OSU) or Greene (FSU).
Why, as a Brown's fan, that you look forward to the draft only to be disappointed by the total incompetence of the front office. This draft should be really very simple and straight forward. Get stronger and faster on defense, get a couple of wide receivers that can stay out of trouble and...
