I hope you're being facetious, because those numbers aren't similar in any sense of the word. Weeden had almost 20 points on DA in completion percentage and 35 points on him in rating, not to mention the TD/INT ratio. Any reason you chose DA to compare against Weeden?

Plus, I see Jeff as a traditional TE and Mike as an H-back, so I'm not sure they would have competed at all.

Is it Matta unwilling to play reserves in general, or Matta unwilling to play the reserves at his disposal? J.D. just didn't have the skill set to play big minutes for this team. If he goes to a smaller school, he could probably play the 4, but not in the B1G.
