Drop the automatic bids, keep the first round home games. Top eight ranked teams get in. I think one big problem this year was unbalanced conference schedules. Too many teams that didn’t play each other ending the year with only two losses.

You are probably right, of course. But if it were up to me, I’d put Clemson at 11 and SMU at 12. Alabama isn’t even on my list of bubble teams after the Oklahoma loss.

Including two losses to teams that finished 6-6, the most recent one being by three touchdowns. No way should Alabama get in over an 11-2 SMU.
