I think that the NW board had it right. I really don't see aTm and UT splitting up because of the amount of money at stake from the PUF. We are talking about billions in oil money and a split would create a large amount of political tension.
Oh you are right, the alumni association and many of the older wine and cheese crowd really had nothing nice to say but many of the people my age (class of 04) had a lot of fun with it.
sure there were some shouting matches and big dick contests, but its always fun when everyone loves...
I agree. Also, Texas being tossed into the conversation is basically an acknowledgment that geography doesn't matter. Why not just do it semi randomly. Keeping obvious rivalries together
Chip actually does have some pretty good sources(he is a former news paper guy) but after he went on Sports Center yesterday I doubt he will be kept in the loop as closely until this thing ends.
no one wants to show all their cards till they have to
I think that most people are excited. All of my friends are of the opinion that Texas and aTm should relax, open up a nice bottle of scotch, light a cigar and watch the rest of them run for cover while we pick the best option at the end.

No the big 12 hasn't been around long but it still felt like home. the big ten or pac whatever just isn't really the same...
change is good and in this case needed...i just really hope things like the aTm thanksgiving game and Red River Shootout don't get messed with.
well, if this thing actually wen't down yall might get to see the real thing a bit more often.
I have to say though, i am a little sad that college football as I know it isn't likely to ever be again
well, i hope that you're right...it would be a huge pick up for this Texas class that it already loaded with defensive players. Between Hicks and Jackson Jeffcoat, Texas has a chance to make a huge splash on signing day.
btw, i'm really looking forward to seeing what TP brings to the table...
So as it comes down to the last week I was wondering what most peoples thoughts are around here.
My thoughts are that Texas, historically, does not land big out of state recruits. However, Texas (historically) has not had Will Muschamp on their side either.
I am 50/50 on this between tOSU...
