Since I'm a young'in (at least by your aged-to-perfection standards, cinci), I was never really aware of his shift in weight. But I did know he was undersized in college because my dad liked the whole 'heart overcomes ability' motif when I was a kid.
I do know he had a problem with alcohol...
Using the guys on the list, I'm not doubting OSU would look better. But the omissions for UT are even more glaring if you just consider NFL production. Wuensch was a 2-time AA and Dick Harris was a few times as well, in the mid-1940's. It seems like the author wanted to include a bunch of the...
I do, and I was initially going to say Texas had an edge, but just because I don't know as many of the OSU guys. We're both going to have that bias because we know our own teams so well. Knowing Texas like I do, I can say "No way OSU has had as many DB's drafted as we have." Well, you...
I see some omissions any serious UT fan would catch, but nothing too major. That's a pretty good list from someone who isn't a Texas fan.
I think the teams are pretty even. Trying to compare running backs and defensive backs is impossible.
QB- Texas
RB- Tie. Ridiculous on both sides.
OL-...
That seems too gimmicky for someone like JT, but y'all would know better than I would. Texas experimented with a formation with both John Chiles and Colt on the field at the same time early in the season. It was pretty worthless so the staff ditched it.
A will never complain about a night spent drinking Shiner Bock. But this is one of my true loves in life:
God bless Lone Star beer. And at $14 for a case it's almost as cheap as Natty.
One of the most interesting matchups in this game is the tailgate scene. Will the UT fans' collective choice of indirect heat (smokers) beat the direct heat (grills) of the Buckeye fans? Who will be the most drunk? What is the drink of choice? Will it be warm enough for the UT women to wear...
Objectively, Texas SHOULD be favored in this game. Maybe even by 8-10 points. I don't know, I suck at gambling so I'm probably even worse at setting lines.
What worries me is there is a consensus that Texas will win handily. No one is picking an upset. That's never good for anything. UT's...
I'm not liking the general consensus (a Texas win) either. And I don't know where all the blowout predictions are coming from. Maybe it's a result of feeling slighted.
That's the MO right there. This is not an explosive offense, just one that's really good at consistently gaining yards and converting third downs. There haven't been too many quick scoring drives this year.
The scoring drives from the OU game were:
10 plays- 57 yards
12-80
6-51
12-89
5-42...
See, I wish you wouldn't post pics of Colt without his helmet on. It's really hard to be intimidated by someone who looks like he's 12.
Which teams? I think UT legitimately has a good (not great) defense. The only team to really torch them this year was Tech, and that was only for 32...
The whole Big 12 powerful offense/weak defense debate should be settled in the bowls. There weren't enough good non-conference games to come to a conclusion.
I do know that other than the Big 12, there just aren't a whole lot of good quarterbacks around the country this year. The SEC is...
Excellent observation.
First of all, I'd like to say the copy/paste feature on BP is badass.
Second, Scout's not missing anything. There are only 9 guys left from the '04 class. And here's the 2005 class (all 15 of them):

I agree, but it occasionally gets old sifting through all the board cliches to find actual content.
And I haven't posted on Hornfans in several months. That place is dead to me.
