I was going to be done with this for now because most everything has been covered. But was not the lion’s share of that 2002 team Cooper recruits? There was MoC obviously but I remember (maybe incorrectly) a lot of juniors and seniors on that team.
A couple years from now it’ll clear up I imagine.
And to be clear - I’m saying I’m just as likely to look like a blind idiot as anyone. Day has faced much harder of a gauntlet to start than Tress did (other than that Miami team).
I just see Day as a few plays away from having a whole...
I’ll question it. At least once its all said in done.
We are one kick or one 5 yard completion from Day winning a natty.
Tress was the fucking man but without looking it up has a very similar record in top 5 matchups. He had #4 team that lost to TX and PSU as well as the two NC losses.
Yeah...
I’d like to have an actual debate over that. Ignore his first two seasons. He won conference in 2016. Since then his best season has been equal to Day’s worst.
Is OSU just automatically supposed to be better than PSU? If you say yes, I can give about a dozen counter arguments against that...
So are we punshing him for making it three of his first four years?
Tress was 1-2 for NC
Urban made it twice in his seven OSU seasons. It might just be me, but I dont care much about his UF win
Ok. I’ve spent the past couple of hours defending Day in the game thread. Well defending him from being immediately fired at least. That said here are his must dos:
-Fire Fleming or reassign him to whatever position he has been retained for. Because its not special teams, that’s for sure. We...
I mean he’s been there once, been a kick away once and been one game away a third time. In five years. Not like what I’m saying is unrealistic.
He could be Tress. Could be Cooper. We’re just a bunch of fans guessing which way it will go.
I’m not and I’m on record that my opinion will change if Day doesn’t turn it around next year. I consider it a must win.
Shawn Springs losing his footing feels like yesterday. Along with all of the other losses those god-tier teams suffered.
I just don’t want to turn into one of the other...
Just going to say that I hope we can agree that this is a good ass problem to have.
I’m too young to remember Bruce.
Tress and Urban I will take against any other reign other than Saban - probably the literal greatest coach of all time. If Cooper and Day are our lows then I can live with...
Call me crazy but I give Day a puncher’s chane at matching Tressel’s one NC in 10 years.
Sometimes I think we lose sight of how good that success rate is
You can call it emporer wearing clothes. I’m just asking what the alternative is. I’m not a die hard Day fan here. He’s definitely on my hot seat if he can’t win next year’s Game.
But he’s checked about every other box. Yes. He’s 0-5 for winning a NC (barring some crazy chaos this year). Only...
Fuck it let’s hire some no name coach because it worked out last time is certainly a take.
Some math for the Day is Cooper posters. Let’s ignore the COVID year when Harbaugh bitched out. Lets’s ignore the cheating. 1-3 is a much better record than 2-10-1. Like he is two consecutive losses...
I’m one. And even discounting the cheating, Day would have to go 0 for his next 7 to match Cooper. And, trust me, I’ll be way off the Day boat way before then.
Pretty much this.
We lost to those cheating fucks twice in unfair conditions.
Day SHOULD be 2-3 which is acceptable. But losing the last three in a row isn’t.
If he falls to 1-4 then I’ll listen. But Day is our best bet right now and the Vrabel and Hartline for HC talk is a little ridiculous.
