Kind of lost in the narrative is that we had four potential INTs that we did not convert on yesterday. Simon had one and Downs had three that were possible, although at least one would have taken a hell of an effort. Ewers has been prone to throwing picks all year and seems to be regressing in...
In the past two games, I don't really recall them putting together many long, sustained drives on offense. When they weren't hitting home runs, they struggled. If our corner play continues to be elite like it has the past couple of weeks, then we hold them under 20.
Their defense is really...
Oh, don't get me wrong, I totally agree. But, it definitely feels like we are seeing formations and plays that haven't been put on tape and have been specifically saved for the playoffs. That said there was still a Grand Canyon sized gap between the offensive game plan for games 1-11 and...
I'm curious what the percentage of plays we ran pre-snap motion in the first half of the two playoff games (until they got out of hand) is versus what it was in the regular season.
It really feels like Day and Kelly have been sandbagging all season waiting to unleash this offensive beast in...
There has been a lot of talk about what we need to do better this time to win (not give up big plays to their WRs, clean up penalties and turnovers, better run success rate, more pressure on Gabriel). Here are my thoughts on what we need to replicate in the rematch. In other words, this is...
It's a chicken and egg argument which makes it indefensible in my opinion. If he doesn't think he has a 46-48%* chance of converting a yard with his offense (which based on how the game had been going, he absolutely DID have a much higher chance to convert than that), then why does he want to...
Late to the party, but did we just witness the worst coaching decision of all time by Narduzzi? 3rd and goal from one in 2OT. TD wins it. Have been rushing with success all game. Dials up a TE to DT trick play pass. Which could have worked, but unsurprisingly did not because both passer and...
Maybe I am biased by the fact that I saw a much bigger percentage of his games in the stadium versus on TV, but as good as Haskins was, he was playing on easy mode in Day's offense. It felt like 30-40% of his passing yards came from hitting guys so wide open that any QB on the roster that year...
I feel safe now in saying that after seeing the other home team all win by multiple scores, I was very fearful of us choking and being (rightfully) roasted for it.
Edit: And doing so in front of a lukewarm crowd.
25% of the way to becoming a Trivial Pursuit question.
"This team won the CFB national championship the first year of both the four-team and twelve-team playoff formats."
According to frosty tips, the Tennessee fans have overrun stadium security, they are now all 100k+ fans. Not only that, the Tennessee National Guard has actually annexed Columbus and it is now part of Tennessee
Hey guys. This thread (as well as pretty much every other thread on this site, regardless of topic) is severely lacking in people sharing their thoughts on Coach Day. What do we think his odds are at taking home COTY this year?
Sorry - couldn't resist
Day’s been very vocal about his thought process on game pacing this for the entire year. He prepared for a 16-17 game schedule. Of the many things to complain about, our offensive pacing seems like an odd choice to focus on.
Could we have had more explosive plays ala prior years? Absolutely...
Pissed off but in no way surprised that the CFP will have input on our game day atmosphere/music/video next week. Including Tennessee getting an intro video when they come on the field. Per Bjork today.
Home field ‘advantage’ it seems.
