2025 TX CB Dorian Brew (Oregon Signee)

Either way, it was likely going to be difficult to bag both Sanchez and Brew, and if you can only lock down one....Sanchez was the right call imo.

    2024 Ohio High School Playoffs

If you have Spectrum, they'll carry all the games and also have a streaming option. You can stream any game on the OHSAA site, but I think they are charging ticket price to stream, so $10 per game. I am hopeful a free stream hits YouTube also though

Ohio State at Maryland, Wednesday, Dec 4, 2024 @ 6:30 PM, BTN

You know it's bad when you see 83-59 and think...gee, not as bad as I thought it was going to be

    2025 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Are we thinking Jarquez Carter is still solid?

    2024 Ohio High School Playoffs

Hoping that Canton doesn't get hit too hard with snow - hopefully that should be past them by 7pm tomorrow night.

    Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

I tell myself to have low expectations for this year, but that is easier said than done. Give me another Mendez title, let Sasso enjoy this year, and see the young guys take the next step and compete well and I'll be happy.

    PF Kalen Etzler (Official Thread)

Definitely an easy kid to root for, no doubt

    David Sanders Jr. (OL Tennessee)

I think he's saying that getting Sanders would have bought Frye another year, or a pass for now. The LT of the future I assume is referring to Lowe.

People to Punch, Pet Peeves, and General Vexations (mega-merge)

First time having one this year...I thought taste wise it was average, I probably expected more out of them. Value was, though, it is elite.

    HC Ryan Day (National Champion)

Random but is there any idea how much of OSU's NIL is fan supported vs. privately sourced?

2027 CA QB Brady Edmunds is a Buckeye!!!

Seems like a pretty solid commit too....not all commits are created equally, but love to hear the family grew up Ohio State fans!

    2024 Ohio High School Playoffs

Longest current streak in the country. Crazy to think the national record is 151 games set by De La Salle in Cali.

    HC Ryan Day (National Champion)

I hear you, but there are things everyone doesn't like about their job. If you have the ability to mitigate those things, to some extent, you can live with them. I am sure there are things he doesn't like about being an NFL head coach. Still, I agree, it is a pipe dream, but I'm still in the...

    HC Ryan Day (National Champion)

That is an easier question to answer when the team is doing well and the job is not open. Things can change quickly when circumstances shift...can you imagine how pissed off Vrabel was watching Saturday!? Who knows, maybe the imminent NIL/portal (well, hopefully imminent) structure could make...

    HC Ryan Day (National Champion)

I have 99.9% expectations Vrabel would not be the HC here, but the bigger question to me would be - how much recruiting would he have to do if he came here. You have a loaded staff that can recruit, does Vrabel pretty much stay home and just help close the deals on visits? With a GM, I doubt...

    HC Ryan Day (National Champion)

This job has to be the most attractive in the country, no? Better than Bama was for DeBoer, imo. The majority of HCs are offensive minded, so you have Knowles already set if you want. You have OSU alums, and elite recruiters, in Hartline and Laurinaitis, likely wanting to stay on board. You have...

    HC Ryan Day (National Champion)

Very similar to the Kyle McCord situation. Ryan Day is a good coach, just not good enough for Ohio State. I'll beat this drum until I'm blue in the face but Jon Sumrall and Bob Chesney have experience as head coaches, in their 40's (42 and 47), consistent winners, aggressive, etc. Bob has won...
  18. bigdog3300

    HC Ryan Day (National Champion)

A very good team and coach, but risk adverse, avoids conflict, etc. You can obviously see based on his post-game non-reaction that he's not the guy to step up during chaos. It's an unfair comparison in some ways, but I think of how Tressel would have reacted to that. Actually, it's not unfair...

    HC Ryan Day (National Champion)

Teams reflect their coaches so much...doesn't matter the sport. Tom Izzo and his Spartans, Saban and Bama, Urban and any of his teams...heck, I look at Shane Beamer at South Carolina. Then you can look at the other side and Ferentz and Iowa, among others. This team, for better and worse...

For perspective, from before the season - https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39868452/ranking-top-10-coaches-college-football-2024 Top coaches were.... 1. Kirby 2. Deboer 3. Whittingham 4. Dabo 5. Norvell Granted, yes, it is ESPN, but point being is that coaching is a fickle...
