What exactly did they do to the zone coverage? I played a couple games today and didn't see a difference.

QFT. If you wanna go for it on 4th, just call an offensive play.

    Football Season Tickets

As a recent student who has managed to snag student season tickets for a couple seasons since graduating, I just want to make sure you guys appreciate how awesome those seats you're getting are. I've sat exclusively in the endzone (or at least behind the goal line) for almost every OSU game I've...

    NEED: 2 for Wisconsin

It's early, but just wanted to get this out there. I'm looking for two for the game in Madison. Don't care where the seats are.

Pretty sure that's what happened to me. In the last game before I noticed that the guy who I was playing quit.

So I've never quit a game, but when I logged on today my online record has another loss and it shows I quit a game in my DNF percentage. Has anyone had that happen?

That's one of the dumb EA things that bugs me. Something else that drives me crazy, is that when someone quits a game I'm in, I can no longer see the replays or stats. I thought I could see stats online, but I went on EA's site last night and it didn't have a match history for my account.

FWIW, everything I know about Xs and Os comes from Smart Football and Ross Fulton, currently of Eleven Warriors. Both of those guys write great stuff. I actually learned how to read the "stick" play by reading this article. :-P...

I've always thought the jamming works a little too well, but I do think that when the WR gets by the jam they are open a lot, aren't they? Gotta say, though, I haven't paid a lot of attention to the ratings of my CBs. On that note, does anyone else remember the "match up stick" from like 5...

I honestly think some of you guys have the wrong idea about how I play. I don't know how else I can explain it, but I don't feel like how I play is unrealistic. I just spread the defense out so it is more likely to tip its hand in regards to what coverage it's using, then audible to something...

    NCAA Football 13

How about defensive play calling? I made a custom playbook so I could use 3-3-5 and 4-3, because the 3-3-5 has trouble when the other player goes goal line (like some people do all game), while the 4-3 seems to handle that reasonably well. For the most part, I blitz a couple LBs and a SS...

When the defense plays man, you are definitely able to sometimes get big gains via scrambles, but I feel like one of the few things EA has gotten right in recent years is that when you leave the pocket you risk being chased down by DEs a lot of the time. I've been trying to pay attention to what...

I choose that play out of the "huddle" because I'm sure people I play against notice me calling an audible on most plays. I want my deep play to be the default, because I can just walk up to the line and snap it if the defense is aligned in a way that I think will let the play work. As someone...

This seems silly to me. Four verticals isn't a money play. Call something like cover-2 man -- or blitz and play man -- and you are likely to stop it. I haven't run into many money plays. Stick works great -- but you need to actively read the defense for it to work right, and, again, against man...

Part of the game is moving your defense around pre-snap. If you don't do this, you'll get burned all the time if you're blitzing with man coverage. Controlling almost anyone but a defensive lineman is a good way to stymie the offense I outlined. You don't even need to make the play as the...

I should also add that a lot of the time if the defense isn't showing a single high safety (often indicating cover 3) I might not bother with four verticals and then I'll audible into stick. I'm not actually running the play all game -- just calling it a lot of game. Also, I've got other stuff I...

Anyone else noticed how awesome "stick" plays are? Some are better than others depending on the formation, but if you read it right, it should be a completion 4/5 times. In last year's game, the stick route didn't quite work right, but that was fixed so the play works a lot better this year...
