Was a senior last season; he's going to play for Coach Haywood at Miami-OH.

    2011 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

I see this class coming together awfully quickly over the next few months. Conceivably, we could be at 17 or 18 before the season starts.

    DL Michael Bennett (National Champion)

You do believe correctly. He's back for the Spring Game this weekend too.

    2010 TSUN News offseason (football)

Will Campbell was being recruited as an offensive guard by Miami and LSU, that I know of. He isn't built like a natural at the position- his body weight is distributed vertically more than horizontally. I think he can be a good DT, but he is going to have to earn it.

Jim Tressel (National Champion, ex-President, Youngstown State University, CFB HOF)

When they can find someone who will do his job as good as he does it for $100,000 a year, sure.

    2010 TSUN News offseason (football)

I told UM fans after signing day that Justin Turner's senior season was truly a spectacle in regression. I don't know what happened, but he hardly looked like a MAC player when it was finished. Of course, the Michigan fans laughed at the "Buckeye homer."

RR's offense has always been plug and play at the TB position. They will produce, but there probably isn't a star in the group.

'11 PA CB Dondi Kirby (Illinois Signee)

Absolutely. He is a fast kid at 6-3. Being recruited for wideout at Oregon and Maryland, at least. Gateway vs. Penn Hills (PA) 2009 Football featuring Dondi Kirby - MaxPreps Video At the 1 minute mark, he catches a pass on a shallow crossing route and takes it 45 yards. Long-strider type.

Not sure about that- JL wore eye black Bible passages for a long time too.

'11 OH OL/DL Donavon Clark (Michigan State Signee)

I'm very familiar with Ed Orgeron's history, and I can assure you that there is a huge difference between the recruiting styles under Carroll and Kiffin. Much like Ohio State under Tressel, Carroll had final say over offers at USC. Kiffin gives Orgeron the freedom to offer whomever he likes...

Ed Orgeron is USC's recruiting coordinator.

Asthma has been no friend to Ohio State this spring.

Paul Haynes (DB Coach Minnesota Golden Gophers)

    He sounds like Coach Tressel.

Orgeron is throwing offers out like candy. Total departure from the Carroll era.

Rittenberg does an excellent job distilling the important news in a quick blog form. His opinions aren't particularly insightful, but that isn't his job anyway. He's good at the small-blog role.

Oversigning (capacity 25, everyone welcome! maybe)

Please, this is a common sense thing. The Gators don't need to funnel players through their system as much as the lower tier SEC schools because they are bringing in higher-level talent. 5 star players have a higher hit rate than lower rated players: But they still have the opportunity to...

    2010 TSUN News offseason (football)

The 3-3-5 is good for getting your best players on the field, but the "best 11" theory usually works better on offense when you can dictate personnel packages and formations to the defense. Because a defense is reactive to both the personnel and formations, it is a lot harder to stick to the...

    DT Joel Hale (Official Thread)

We usually don't because we don't need to, but OSU has turned kids with offers down in the past.
