Columbus Crew SC (2008, 2020, 2023 MLS Champions)

The Crew had a spirited comeback tonight in the home leg of the Champions League tie with Toluca. Down 2-0 at the break and without Schelotto, Hejduk, Zayner or Marshall, they came back thanks to 2 Steven Lenhart goals to draw two apiece. Obviously, even with us getting some guys back, the...

    UEFA Champions League (Official Thread)

Oh my GOD Arsenal played so well. I cannot wipe the smile off my face. They were brilliant. It could've easily been 8-0. I love this team. Arshavin was brilliant. Nasri played in Cesc's position perfectly. Bendtner (for once) scored when he should have. I love life.

    UEFA Champions League (Official Thread)

Arsenal will be without Cesc Fabregas as he picked up a knock on Saturday, and still without William Gallas. They'll likely field a lineup of Almunia, Clichy, Vermaelen, Campbell, Sagna or Eboue, Song, Diaby, Nasri, Walcott, Arshavin, Bendtner.

What song are you listening to right now

Recently I've been listening almost non-stop to some stuff by a band in my neck of the woods, Westerville, called Twenty One Pilots. A friend recommended it to me and I assumed that, like every local band I'd ever heard, I would hate their stuff. But I didn't! It's some really good stuff, I...

U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

Well, that was semi-productive. Nice that we can take a team so hard hit by injuries to play a really good team like the Netherlands and look respectable. Could've easily have been a tie. De Jong should have been red carded for his tackle on Holden. If there's any time to protect the players...

    Big 10 Basketball 2009-2010

Considering we have 7 losses, I doubt we'll be a 1 seed. Conference tournaments don't seem to be considered much in terms of seeding, and we really haven't been in the conversation much, next to these teams with 2 and 3 losses. I feel like if we win out we should be a solid 2-seed, though.

Not only is the game entertaining and Inter are up after an early Milito goal, but Ballack got kicked in the face a few minutes ago! This is a joy to watch.

    US-Canada Olympic Men's Hockey

That was the most exciting sports game I've watched in a long time, and that comes from someone who barely follows hockey. Wow, what a game. USA!

    UEFA Champions League (Official Thread)

I think there's an EPL thread but yeah, they're one of the best teams in the PL right now, the way they're playing, and it's been really fun to watch. 5-1-1 since Donovan arrived.

Columbus Crew SC (2008, 2020, 2023 MLS Champions)

If I may be the negative Nancy to your Sally sunshine, something to not be excited about is the inability for the players and owners to agree on a new collective bargaining agreement. The deadline has been extended several times, and after some progress the talks have turned sour, with Pat...

    UEFA Champions League (Official Thread)

In the Champions League, and most foreign tournaments, the first tie-breaker for a tie on aggregate is number of away goals. That didn't matter with the Crew because MLS doesn't use the away goals tiebreaker. EDIT: Well, I'm only 2 hours late. :P

    UEFA Champions League (Official Thread)

Jesus, what a disaster that was. True to the stereotype of Arsenal fans, I generally believe that we're the better team even in the games we lose, but we were not the better team yesterday. Our attack was just abysmal, every pass was telegraphed and nobody except Rosicky was willing to shoot...

    UEFA Champions League (Official Thread)

Bayern have really hit their stride recently in the Bundesliga while Fiorentina have been dreadful in Serie A. I suppose a lot of the time you need to forget about domestic results, but I just can't see Bayern not winning in Munich. As for my beloved Gunners, we'll be using a stone-soup lineup...

    UEFA Champions League (Official Thread)

Milan just got Arsenal'd. They completely outplayed their opponents, but failed to finish their chances and ultimately lost thanks to shaky defending and goalkeeping. No way they get a 2 goal win at Old Trafford, that series is over. Lyon @ Madrid should be very interesting, however.

This is one of the most dominating performances I've seen from an Ohio State team in Big Ten play in a long time. And we're doing it on their home court! I almost feel bad for Illinois. But I don't. Also, I'm no expert on incoming recruits, but I doubt that Jared Sullinger weighs 280 lbs.

Official FIFA 2010 World Cup Discussion

Not related to THIS World Cup, but FIFA President Sepp Blatter has indicated that the 2018 world cup will be held in a European country, meaning we're likely to see 2018 in England, and 2022 in the USA.
