It may have been completely okay in the eyes of the NCAA...but it was close enough to not being okay that TP should have known better than to do it without checking with compliance.
But how is it okay? Would this dealership let me "check out" a car for a weekend??
Too bad Archdeacon does not seem to know that Lou Holtz has been on tv saying this is a different situation, defending playing the players in the Sugar Bowl and arguing that the punishment is excessive.
Harbaugh+Pellini were born in Ohio. Dantonio has spent most of his life coaching in Ohio. 3/5 >1/2. You might want to take it easy calling people idiots!
Not only that, but it seems unlikely that the compliance department did not realize that athletes would face the temptation/opportunity to sell their uniforms, rings, etc.
Yes, we are saying that. As the class starts to get full most coaches let the players with outstanding offers know that their time to make a decision is running short.
Tell me which one is better: A) rescinding the offer before signing day, leaving the kid with time to sign elsewhere; B) not...
I think the better hypothetical is what the NCAA would have done had we been in the national title game...would they have allowed the infamous 5 to suit up??
It's not like boosters have never given jobs to players before...that wouldn't constitute "special" treatment either...
Here's hoping you were being sarcastic too.
Haha...move to 2011 DB discussion? I would imagine the hope is Bryant starts at SS next season. Although he filled in quite well at STAR he is undersized (under 200) for the position.
Sheesh, I don't think performance would drop during The Game simply because a player hates cold weather to such a strong degree. I hate cold weather too but that didn't have any bearing on how hard I cheered in November :). I think it is completely understandable for a Florida kid to want to...
