According to the official website, he had a half sack against Illinois, but nothing against EMU.
The only reason that Ted Ginn doesn't hold the state record for the 100 is because he didn't run it. If he did, he would have it.
As to the original question, it is not even close. Ted Ginn was disgustingly fast and while TP may have amazing football speed, he would get smoked in a straight...
As long as it doesn't conflict with the defensive scheme and the way the safties operate, I like the idea of him and C.J. Barnett back there for the next two years. Both of those guys can bring it and have athletic ability that runs through the roof.
Agreed with the other comment. I do not care where he was "recruited," Tyler flat out found the ball both against the run and against the pass. Not saying Christian won't get there (he appears to have a knack for getting to the ball and also seems to be a quick learner), I am just saying there...
I will say that Christian looked pretty good, but I have no idea how you can say that he is better in coverage than Tyler after only one game and against a team that threw the ball only 20 times in heavy winds with a freshman QB.
He will get plenty of chances to improve his game, but he has...
I saw it mentioned earlier in this thread as a joke, but is there any chance that the Borens wait until after the season and assess the situation at Michigan before he commits? My understanding is that the family is anti-Rodriguez...not anti-Michigan. Hopefully he ends up in scarlet and gray...
All the calls for Berry to get time with the 1st team just has me thinking about a few points:
1. I agree that he has shown immense potential in the limited time he has seen thus far but it is important to note (as many already have) that this potential has been shown against backups on teams...
His vision was, without exaggeration, the best I have ever seen on a RB regardless of his age. I find it funny that the O-line play was better the following year and our running game was so much worse than in 02. He was downright disgusting.
Anyone else gain a little bit of respect for the offensive line after watching Miami's front 7 absolutely decimate Pitt? That Miami's D is unquestionably legit and Pitt had no answer up front.
414 yds for us compared to 232 yds for Pitt...I think the difference in O-line play has a ton to do...
Didn't see this posted anywhere. Ken Gordon, on his Twitter account quoted Coach Haynes as saying that Tyler may not be on the field as much this week because of the scheme change against Miami. Unfortunate, but I am sure he will make the most of his time on the field.
He was an absolute beast on the field and I wish he and OSU still had mutual interest. Regarding the bird he sent flying to Glenville...definitely do not condone it but that was a horribly officiated game and his team clearly got screwed. Still, that was a bad image to send to a national audience.
I have no problem with the offer. Obviously the coaches feel, assuming there is a problem with his instincts/attitude/aggressiveness, that they can coach him up. I will say that there is no doubt he looks the part of a college lineman.
Not sure where you got the idea to compare Boom to Lydell Ross but that is not really accurate. In the 2004 season you cite, Lydell had fewer yards, almost half the number of TDs and basically the same ypc but, he led the team in carries. Boom was behind TP in carries on last year's team and...
I agree that he was the best defensive player and I firmly believe that the attitude he brings to the field is contagious. Our defense was flying around and absolutely smacking people all night. This can be a special defense and Tyler seems primed to play a huge part in that.
Totally agree. He is an amazing blocker and he plays with an easily identifiable mean streak. My favorite block of his was the sweep when Saine scored the 2nd TD. Zach sealed the corner and then proceeded to make a pile of Marshall players while Saine scooted in untouched. He's a definite...
I look at it this way: whatever we have with our young, unproven CBs is what it is. Adding another person to the mix can't hurt anything. I'm a firm believer in the idea that competition brings out the best in players. Bring him in, let him and everyone else compete for playing time and put...
As I noted earlier, I think the TE position and Jake specifically can tilt the scale for this offense. I honestly believe that changes this from a good offense to an elite one.
Keep getting him the damn ball!!
I saw that Solomon's thread hasn't been updated since last October. Since he is the starting DE for our season opener, I thought he deserved a little more love than that.
Good luck Solomon. :gobucks1:
