Was sorry to see Reid not honored by Big Ten last night. He was certainly deserving of recognition. His play this season was a big part of our going 12-0. He was as good of a right tackle as I saw in the league this season.
Currently there is one spot remaining in the 2013 class barring attrition. If the class ends up at 22 that means that 4 players on the current roster with eligibility remaining won't be returning. While that is certainly a possibility, it's hard for me to imagine that the coaches already know...
What Meyer means by "no redshirting" is players who have earned the right to play will not be held out of games in order to preserve a year of eligibility. There will still be players who, for various reasons, don't get into any games during the course of a given season.
As it stands right now we will have 13 schollys for 2014. I know more will open up between now and signing day 2014 but its very unlikely to be enough to qualify for the #1 recruiting class.
