ESPN is so fucking retarded.
They try to sound like they are guessing but you know they know what the hell is going on.
Berman says "now keep in mind the future or Donte Whitner is up in the air while they make this pick..."
And shocking! They take a safety.
ESPN ruins everything.
i can have my own [censored]ing opinion. and its an opinion shared by the majority. deal with it.
as far as the "constant bashing of everything the browns do"
I am pretty sure the Browns have treated the draft like freaking idiots for the past ten years. Yes I do not have faith in them yet...
Getting Jimmy Smith in the first and someone like Marvin Austin in the second looks a hell of a lot better than what we are likely to get now...
EDIT: Plus we could have kept that 3rd round pick.
As far as wideouts go, give me Hankerson from Miami.
Reminds me of Reggie Wayne.
Also, I know it is not a position of need, but I think Safety Rahim Moore from UCLA is going to be a playmaker.
I will admit, I was not a fan of the TJ Ward pick last year. (I do not think anyone was...)
But if they hit on this pick, and Taylor plays like a #21 pick should, then next year they could draft Willy fucking Wonka and I will have faith in the pick. That is how little faith I have in Phil Taylor.
Off the top of my head, these are guys I hope we target during the second round with our two picks.
Brooks Reed DE/OLB Arizona
Kyle Rudolph TE Notre Dame
Marvin Austin DT North Carolina
Da'Quan Bowers DE Clemson
Akeem Ayers OLB UCLA
Bruce Carter OLB UNC
Dontay Moch OLB Nevada
Rahim Moore FS...
This.
This pick makes no sense.
I challenge ANYONE to make this make sense.
Because it doesnt. The Browns are idiots. They have been since they came back. This move looks absolutely retarded.
Nothing impresses me about Taylor. Wilkerson looks like a MUCH better player, and he lasted to...
I prefer DT's in a 4-3 to be more disruptive and penetrate more than just be a space eater.
That guy from temple is an impressive player. I wonder if the staff would have stuck at 27 knowing he would be available, or if they prefered Taylor that much more over him.
I think he has the right coach in Pittsburgh to put him in a position to excel.
Lebeau and his Ohio State ties did his homework and wanted him, that says a lot to me. I think he will move around and be a great pass rusher in nickle situations.
We ran a 3-4 for years with no true nose tackle. We even passed up Ngata for Wimbley.
We did not spend a high draft pick on a nose tackle for years. We drafted Babatunde Oshinawa from Stanford in the fifth, but that was it.
So to switch to a 4-3, and then spend a first round pick on a nose...
They are the anti-Browns.
I think Pittsburgh and Baltimore hit the fucking jackpot with their first picks.
Both got great prospects at positions of need.
Ravens get a freak of nature at corner to help make their defense even stronger.
Steelers get a Buckeye to make their defensive line even more versatile and tougher.
And the Browns trade way down and then up and grab a guy with character issues, weight issues, and injury issues.
A team desperate for playmakers traded way down, then up for a stay at home nose tackle with endurance issues and an inoperable foot problem in both feet that will test his pain tolerance.
I am thrilled.
Unbelievable.
This franchise is literally retarded.
No other way around it.
We fucked around with a 3-4 for years and never spent a draft pick on a legitamite NG. Now we switch to a 4-3 and we draft a NG.
Yeah there was actually.
Quinn or Fairley.
Not sure why you are being a smartass. Just because I did not feel Jones was worthy of the #6 pick, and I also did not like trading down 21 spots when we need talent.
