I think that's exactly what's going to bring Vlad Emilien on board Monday. Our safety problems are well-documented, Harrison and Stewart are seniors, and Chambers is gone too. Vlad would be pretty much penciled into the two-deep right away.
You're spot on except for Maryland. World-beatingly awesome (Cal, Wake) mixed with inexplicably shitty (MTSU, UVA) doesn't average out to solid, it averages out to weird.
Anyway, you're right, there's no one team that demands respect, but on the other hand, the conference has a good shot at...
Yeah....trust me, I've had these memorized for a while :D the Coastal is crazy. I'm pulling for ultimate chaos and a four-way tie - we (UVA) need to win out and have UNC win out too. Course, it won't hurt if NC State can beat Miami next week.
This is the 15th game this season between a ranked ACC team and an unranked ACC team. If GT can hang on for the win (and it's 41-16 at the moment, so I imagine they can, somehow) the ranked team will be 3-12 in such matchups.
If that's part of the topic, then any time players stand around a pile after a fumble, motioning in their respective direction, that is the second most obnoxious thing ever. The most obnoxious thing ever is when they stand around the refs doing it, trying to convince the zebras that the ball is...
The games are already packaged as determining the ultimate champion. And why does common sense say the price to advertise becomes more expensive in a playoff? They're football games. What makes a playoff somehow more appealing.
And yes, the obvious rebuttal is that CBS is paying for more...
Would the naming rights to a playoff really be worth more than five separate naming rights? I imagine you can squeeze more out of five companies than one. And why would TV pay more for a playoff than for the BCS? I don't think there's any basis for an assumption like that.
And again: forget...
Why not? We've been on the tee all year, so to speak. This week is just the backswing.
(Although, if you guys were honest with yourselves and read the quote in context, you'd see that RR was sticking up for his players. That's a lot to ask in this thread this week though. So fire away.)
First of all, you would honestly trash the Rose Bowl?
You're missing the point on the diminishing of bowl games. The Rose Bowl wouldn't disappear, but it would forever be relegated to the third-best of the Big Ten and Pac-10. And it would trickle down. The Citrus would get the fourth best...
Not so much. Long himself didn't get any sacks but UVA got to Harrell more than anyone has lately (three times, which still isn't spectacular), in great part due to the double teams Long drew. If you'd have actually singled up on Long all day it would have been ugly.
I think the idea is to shuffle the two conferences to end up with one conference that's as good as any BCS conference and one that's Sun Belt quality.
So, say:
BYU
Utah
TCU
Boise State
Fresno State
Hawaii
Air Force
Colorado State
and
New Mexico
UNLV
Wyoming
Louisiana Tech (which...
