And did you guys keep Cooper when he was putting up loss after loss to Michigan? Would you even have been that patient with him if he kept losing bowl games and suffered the most embarrassing loss in NCAA history? We were stagnating. You can't "take away the losses to Tressel", as much as I'd...
I have, but in a rivalry-hate, Suckeyes-hur-hur-hur kind of vein, because it's fun. Not out of a true and honest belief that, say, Jim Tressel is cheating. That's the difference. I generally don't pick my arguments here with the rivalry-hate talkers. I pick my arguments with the people who...
No, the rules prevent me from bashing Buckeyes, not from gushing indiscriminately about Michigan. I don't get all irrational about RR at MGoBlog either. In fact I'm probably more irrational here than there on that subject.
I have a long way to go, I think, to match the "poison atmosphere" slop.
I try to avoid buying into the instant gratification, what have you done for me lately attitude that too many fans have these days. I mean, you don't hire a coach to reverse a several-years-long trend and a long slow...
haha....that site has been the source of much amusement for us 'Hoos. Pity it hasn't been updated in ages. The Hokie who runs it probably spilled Natty Ice on his electric lightnin' box.
I avoided commenting on that in order to not get in three arguments at once. That's how the RR thread got to be so big. But since you asked, it probably doesn't come as any surprise to you that I think you're reading more into that than there really is. I really don't see how you get "we...
Let me try to avoid subtleties here. This is - not to put too fine a point on it, mind you - the single stupidest thing I've ever seen.
You're suggesting that a family, undergoing some unknown rocky times, should quit their jobs, sell the house, pack up and spend untold thousands to leave...
No, my opinion is Fred Jackson is telling the truth and there are things going on at home that McGuffie felt it wasn't right to be away from. And the mentions of homesickness that were popping up occasionally this season lend credence to that.
Bah humbug.
No. Mom and dad came up for games and such. Family's all in Texas though. If they did move (which I doubt, because it'd probably have gone a long way toward fixing the homesickness he's had all year) I've never heard of it.
:shake:
Congrats....you've just set the record for "most unfounded opinions in one post." I mean, where do I begin?
- Claiming the family issues McGuffie's been having are nothing more than "excuses peddled by the coaching staff"? Real understanding of you.
- "Why shouldn't his family...
Ridiculous. How about you read this article first.
Ohio is not in Texas, therefore the response would be peals of laughter from Michigan fans and "thanks but no thanks" from McGuffie. He's going home.
Never happen, here's why: You still have 78 schools playing only a 10-game season. The ones that need the money most, the MAC teams and Sun Belt teams and C-USA teams of the world, are the ones most likely to get shut out of the process and thus play two fewer games. That'll cost them a...
So it's OK to lose to an 8-4 team in your conference, but not OK to lose to one outside your conference? Mississippi proved they can't hold water outside their conference, but Florida lost to them anyway.
Well, first off, your let-me-throw-a-bone-and-give-credit list is woefully short. You fault NC State for losing to South Carolina, but no credit to Clemson for beating them? You fault UVA (the 11th best team in the conference, mind you) for losing to UConn, but no credit to UNC for housing them...
They'll just officially call it the BCS championship then.
But this is fucking stupid, and not just because I hate the idea of a playoff. Seriously, don't the leaders of the free world have anything better to do? Don't they have a war to win, a deficit to tackle, a national debt to pay down...
