Thanks. I didn't realize there is a separate thread for the women's team. I have this thread bookmarked so I never go to the forum homepage.
I'm happy they brought home the championship today. I'm looking forward to watching both teams again next season.
Go Bucks!
Both of the men's doubles lost in third set tiebreakers yesterday. Women's doubles advanced.
Torpegaard just dropped his Round of 16 match, so the men's season is officially over. It was a great season. Looking forward to next year.
What a great effort. Torp was down 6-2, 3-0 and things weren't looking very good. Him battling back and winning his match was huge. And Wolf getting it done when all the pressure was on was enormous. Amazing team win!!!
I didn't mean to imply anything like sandbagging. I don't think that is what's going on. I guess my question was more like, how much difference in level is there between a 14.3 and a 14.8? Maybe at that level the difference is so marginal that having guys shuffled in various positions isn't that...
Regarding UTR: I asked this question earlier in the thread, but I'll try again. According to the numbers for Virginia, Altamirano would be playing 5th based on his UTR, but he is at #1. Why the discrepancy between that number and where Altamirano plays in the lineup? Ohio State has a couple...
Can you help me better understand the UTR? According to the numbers for Virginia, Altamirano would be playing 5th based on his UTR, but he is at #1. Obviously, the UTR does not fully capture a player's ability, but why the discrepancy between that number and where Altamirano plays in the lineup...
After dropping the match to UNC, the Bucks rebounded with a big win over Texas A&M. UNC ended up winning the whole thing, so that loss was obviously to a really good team.

The women's team beat Vanderbilt again as well...
Good week for a couple of former Buckeyes.

Rola is from Slovenia. He has played for their Davis Cup team in the past, though.
He's currently doing well at Challenger in the U.S.

He's also doing great in doubles at the same tournament with his former partner at OSU, Chase Buchanan...
Torpegaard with another Double's victory at a Future this week. This time he partnered with fellow Buckeye Pollanen to bring home the title. Congrats to the Buckeyes putting in work this summer and getting things done in preparation for the coming season...
