Thanks. I didn't realize there is a separate thread for the women's team. I have this thread bookmarked so I never go to the forum homepage. I'm happy they brought home the championship today. I'm looking forward to watching both teams again next season. Go Bucks!

Both of the men's doubles lost in third set tiebreakers yesterday. Women's doubles advanced. Torpegaard just dropped his Round of 16 match, so the men's season is officially over. It was a great season. Looking forward to next year.

  8. Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 17 Straight B1G Titles)

What a comeback for Di Feo! Unbelievable. Down 4-3 and he breaks. Holds from down 0-40. Then breaks again to clinch. Go Bucks!! Final Four!
  9. Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 17 Straight B1G Titles)

What a great effort. Torp was down 6-2, 3-0 and things weren't looking very good. Him battling back and winning his match was huge. And Wolf getting it done when all the pressure was on was enormous. Amazing team win!!!
  10. Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 17 Straight B1G Titles)

I didn't mean to imply anything like sandbagging. I don't think that is what's going on. I guess my question was more like, how much difference in level is there between a 14.3 and a 14.8? Maybe at that level the difference is so marginal that having guys shuffled in various positions isn't that...

Regarding UTR: I asked this question earlier in the thread, but I'll try again. According to the numbers for Virginia, Altamirano would be playing 5th based on his UTR, but he is at #1. Why the discrepancy between that number and where Altamirano plays in the lineup? Ohio State has a couple...
  12. Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 17 Straight B1G Titles)

Can you help me better understand the UTR? According to the numbers for Virginia, Altamirano would be playing 5th based on his UTR, but he is at #1. Obviously, the UTR does not fully capture a player's ability, but why the discrepancy between that number and where Altamirano plays in the lineup...
  13. Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 17 Straight B1G Titles)

That's a great win! Losing the dubs point, and still finding a way to grind it out.
  14. Ohio State Men's Tennis (2014/2019/2024 ITA Indoor National Champs, 17 Straight B1G Titles)

After dropping the match to UNC, the Bucks rebounded with a big win over Texas A&M. UNC ended up winning the whole thing, so that loss was obviously to a really good team. http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/sports/m-tennis/recaps/021416aaa.html The women's team beat Vanderbilt again as well...
