Darn, I guess Colorado didn't get the additional clause for further reduction if they're one of two BCS bowl representatives for the conference this year. :D
Big XII agrees to $9.25 million exit fee vs. the demanded $20 million plus
Well, it had been pretty widely reported that Big XII commissioner Dan Beebe had shot himself in the foot with regards to holding Nebraska to the greater than $20 million exit fee the conference was demanding. Nebraska...
Just had to chime in and say - there's even a thread about this over on the Husker board I frequent. Someone posted the video, and everyone there is talking about what a douche the kid is too. :D
They posted Coach Solich's response too - have to say, pretty classy/funny response on his part!
Well, his alma mater calling is definitely a risk - that and the NFL I think are the only possibilities for Nebraska losing him. I do think that Nebraska joining the Big Ten actually makes a jump to OSU less likely though - one (of many) things I like about the move! :)
And the dream matchup of OSU-Nebraska in the NC requires 'Bama to lose to someone during the season - because if both OSU and 'Bama run the table, I don't see the Huskers leapfrogging either of them, even if we are unbeaten.
I agree, they are looking a bit better each week - and Saturday for the Huskers was a major step, I think - as was OSU's win over Miami. I think there will be an awful lot of folks from both fan bases rooting for both teams to run the table this year. Go Huskers, Go Bucks!
One of the Big 12 sports writers did an article a few weeks ago looking forward through the upcoming season. His pick for "potentially most embarrassing moment" was Dan Beebe having to present the last Big 12 CC trophy to Bo Pelini & Tom Osborne in front of the TV cameras. :D
And DFW (North Texas Nebraskans) has 3 official watch sites, which almost always collectively draw over 500 for games, with over 1000 for big games not being unusual.
Not sure on the stats for where there are the most alumni/fans though.
Damn straight! He might not have been quite as ready back then, but he'd have been a hell of a lot better than Callahan. And we'd have had a great shot at ending up with Pelini as HC and focusing on the defense, with Turner Gill as OC focusing on the offense. Thanks, Bucks, for Pelini! :neb2:
Yep, my dream season! Win the Big 12 on our way out, and get to watch Dan Beebe have to present the FINAL Big 12 CC trophy to Nebraska - then face Ohio State in the NC game! A longshot, to be sure, but sure would be awesome! :neb2::osu2:
My wife and I are planning to go to the Dallas Alumni site to watch the OSU-Miami game tomorrow. Just did a little more checking via the Dallas club website, and the sites listed in the first post in this thread for Dallas are out of date and incorrect. The current Ohio State Alumni Club of...
OSU plays Miami, Nebraska plays Idaho. So my wife and I will be at a Bucks watch site on Saturday, cheering them on for a victory over Miami. The following weekend, the Huskers play Washington, and the Bucks play Ohio, so we'll rotate to the Huskers watch site for that one.
:neb: Go Huskers...
Wow, if that isn't a textbook example of cutting off your own nose to spite your face, I don't know what is!
I'd personally bet you'll still be watching OSU games, but that's just me. ;)
You're absolutely correct, and to my previous point. They did review it and said the correct call was made - and the head of the Big XII officiating who was responsible for the review is a Texas alum and active supporter. And I'll just leave it at that too.
Hehe, I believe you're correct! :) For comparison, let me ask - if we play TSUN and there's a huge debate on a critical call like that, will the head official making the final decision be a TSUN alum? If not, then yeah, I think we'll take the officiating change. :wink2:
