  1. RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

They can't run.. They have a pedestrian Oline, and if you watch the games, the defenses have no respect for Anderson/Hall, so they crowd the box. They tried to run out the clock vs Minnesota and kept getting nailed at the LOS. Beanie's mental errors and the fact he is showing no...
  2. RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

Beanie isn't playing well and isn't 100%. The other guy is averaging 5.5 yards per carry. Sometimes former Buckeyes aren't playing because they simply aren't getting the job done. There is no conspiracy here. If he plays better, he'll play more.
  3. C Greg Oden (All B1G, All-American, Defensive Player of the Year, Butler Assistant Coach)

At least he's slimmed down this year. He did himself a disservice putting on so much weight as soon as he got the NBA.. As I said before, I hope he's ready to be a professional now and treat his body right.
  4. C Greg Oden (All B1G, All-American, Defensive Player of the Year, Butler Assistant Coach)

He obviously made the right call to leave school because he got paid right before starting to break down. However, he was a kid who probably never wanted to leave and shouldn't have left college.. It's taken him up until about right now to really grow up and start being a professional.. His...
  5. RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

Did you watch the game? Not Beanie's finest moments.. dropped on a ball on a third down early, was unaware he was supposed to be on the field during a fourth down play which ended up being rushed an failing because he was late getting back on the field... Not to mention his vision just isn't...
  6. S Orhian Johnson (official thread)

Is it? Just curious as to why you believe he is a high level football talent? He's a very good athlete, but what exactly have you seen that leads you to believe he's an Ohio St. caliber safety? I wouldn't be surprised if Barnett and Bryant are the safety combo next year.
  7. 2010 tOSU Offensive Line Discussion

The issue the last two drives was that time was running out and we couldn't afford to run the ball anymore.. Wisconsin knew it and as a result they didn't have to honor the run at all.. If we had gotten the ball back at 21-18 or even 24-18 I have no doubt we would have stayed balanced and...
  8. 2010 tOSU Offensive Line Discussion

I would love to get an answer from one of our insiders or former coaches here who know about Oline schemes... I agree with you that our Olinemen don't seem to drive ahead at the snap, they seem to take the lateral step and then just catch the defender, as opposed to firing off the ball and...
  9. Who was faster? TGII or TP?

Ted and it wouldn't be close.
  10. RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

It was a terrible playcall because they could have run 40 seconds off the clock by just running it into the LOS and punting.. In regards to Beanie.. as I've stated in the past, the team cannot run block.. it's even worse now since we are starting a rookie QB.. Saints just attacked the run all...
  11. RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

Agree with your second point. However, I fail to see how you can look at the results and come away that it was "stupid" to have such an agressive passing attack the previous 3 years. The offense had massive success throwing the football on all downs. But I do agree, that right now they need to...
  12. RB Jaamal Berry (Transfer to Murray State)

Blocking assignments are critical. That being said, you can't tell me that running a zone read a few times a game with Pryor and Berry wouldn't be worth a shot.
  13. RB Warren Ball (transfer to Akron)

Just my opinion, but he looks a lot thicker than last year and doesn't look as explosive.. Was expecting more based on his previous film and the hype.
  14. WR Anthony Gonzalez (2005 All B1G, US Congressman)

How does this make any sense? This is the NFL, and all three are Colts property. Why would they put be afraid to play a superior player?? That doesn't make any sense. Collie and Garcon are great receivers. I fail to see how Gonzo is being screwed here. If he was better than those two guys and...
  15. LB Etienne Sabino (official thread)

I agree. I think Sweat will move to WILL. Sabino will go back to where he's practiced the longest which is SAM, and Klein takes over in the middle. I tend to think the battle will be more between Bell an Sabino for that third spot. I think Klein is set in the middle for next season and Sweat...
  16. Aundrey Walker (Southern Cal Signee)

He's a major project IMO, and I hope we aren't looking at him as a long term option at OT..
  17. LB Bobby Carpenter (All B1G, National Champion)

So you want your team to start signing bad/washed up players?
  18. RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

Or maybe we can just have a civil and objective discussion on the topic...
  19. RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

Whisenhunt will play to the strength of his team just like any good coach does. Beanie is going to have a very good season. Don't read into anything the Cardinals do or don't do in preseason. They play it as vanilla as it gets.
  20. RB Chris "Beanie" Wells (All B1G, All-American)

These alumni threads are all the same. Wave the pom poms, or if a guy isn't producing, blame the coaching staff, system, city, fans, etc...
